Even if you do not need a player, you can tuck him away for depth or block others from adding him to their fantasy football team.

Fantasy football free agents: Priority additions

Davis making the leap

The following players should be high on your radar and are worthy of being added immediately to your fantasy football team.

Fred Davis, Washington Redskins (75 percent)

Another rehashing of last week: Acquire Fred Davis. Chris Cooley (knee) doesn't look like himself and may not for a very long time. Davis and Rex Grossman are on the same page, so much that the quarterback went to the USC product on two key third-down plays.

The pass-catching tight end looks thinner and more nimble than ever before. Washington ran fewer two-tight end sets and he still produced. Davis was targeted seven times and has the talent to outright overtake Cooley as the No. 1 tight end.

Fantasy football free agents: One-week plays

The following fantasy football pickups are for those who need injury or bye week replacements. They are not players you immediately acquire - unless your team is in dire straights. Some have, however, shown some life and should be followed in case they materialize as options beyond their temporary use.

Evan Moore and Benjamin Watson, Cleveland Browns (93 percent, 82 percent)

Though they could just as easily be frustrating plays and paupers' version of the New England Patriots' powerful pair, Moore and Watson represent a growing trend of increasing tight end usefulness in the flex spot. Moore has two touchdowns on red-zone targets. Watson, who has a 34-yard scoring catch to his credit this season, looks to be the better option between the 20s.

Luckily, you should muster some production out of both if you have a positional need and your league is deep. The Browns, who still can't claim to have an outright WR1, should use their pair of TEs against a Miami Dolphins defense that has allowed the most fantasy points to the position so far; it was tilted heavily by a Week 1 Pats party, but they also allowed the Houston Texans' Owen Daniels to hit the end zone this past Sunday.

If you're in a PPR league, Watson stands as the better target. If it's standard scoring, Moore fits the bill better thanks to his better touchdown potential.
