Outfielders

Corey Patterson, Toronto Blue Jays (signed)

New Texas Rangers SP Brandon Webb
Webb has questions to answer

His steals utility - plus some spurts of hot hitting - in deep AL-only leagues in 2010 remains his upside if he manages to find PT in this crowded positional picture. That's worth a buck, but not more.

Pitchers

Brandon Webb, Texas Rangers (signed)

On a one-year pact with incentives, can he return to being his old Cy Young arm? His dominance - while not devastating - saw a notable boost in '07 to complement one of the elite ground-ball profiles in the bigs.

Oh, the questions. His last MLB start came on April 6, 2009. How quickly will he regain his control - and especially his velocity, following reports of it being in the low 80s in the Advanced Instructional League? Can he rectify the problems with his current arm slot, which he has used with poor results since late '08?

His ballpark is worrisome, but when he stays grounded, Webb can negate Arlington's impact. MLB whispers say Webb might not be ready until July; in deep fantasy leagues, though, gambles like Webb often pay off. Updates on his progress will dictate his ADP - if reports sound positive, they'll justify a late-round mixed dice roll on a potentially high ceiling.
