Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: PK - Week 5 (with video)

If you are serious about winning your fantasy league football championship, stay on top of your fantasy football team throughout the year.

Each week during the NFL fantasy football season, KFFL brings you its Fantasy Football Waiver Wire, which breaks down players to pick up. Be aggressive when picking up fantasy football free agents. Even if you do not need a player, you can tuck him away for depth or block others from adding him to their fantasy football team.

Fantasy football free agents: Priority additions

The following players should be high on your radar and are worthy of being added immediately to your fantasy football team.

Matt Prater, Denver Broncos (32 percent)

Cincinnati Bengals PK Mike Nugent
Nugent perfect so far

After a slow start, Prater has made six field goals over the past two weeks while racking up 24 points. Denver's thin air always helps with distance scoring, and with Peyton Manning at the helm, the Broncos should continue to put points on the board. If an impatient owner cut bait after two weeks, consider welcoming Prater onto your roster.

Greg Zuerlein, St. Louis Rams (77 percent)

St. Louis might not have the most dynamic offense out there, but their ability to move the ball between the 30s (and no further) has been a boon for Zuerlein. The rookie has been afforded multiple field goal attempts in every game this season while scoring in double digits in all but one. He's 12-for-12 on field goals, and that includes kicks of 56, 58 and 60 yards; what more can you ask for?

Fantasy football free agents: Look to acquire

The following players will have greater significance in deep fantasy football leagues. In shallow fantasy football leagues, they are not as high of a priority but should be considered based on your fantasy football team's needs.

Mike Nugent, Cincinnati Bengals (81 percent)

In their three games since laying an egg in Baltimore, the Bengals have averaged 33 points per contest. Nugent has held up his end of the bargain this season, converting all seven field goal attempts and scoring at least seven points in every game. He's a solid, if unspectacular, addition.

Fantasy football free agents: One-week plays

The following fantasy football pickups are for those who need injury or bye week replacements. They are not players you immediately acquire - unless your team is in dire straits. Some have, however, shown some life and should be followed in case they materialize as options beyond their temporary use.

NEW - Steven Hauschka, Seattle Seahawks (92 percent)

After scoring 19 points over the first two weeks, Hauschka has managed just nine the past two. He looks to have a good chance to get rolling again this week, however, as no team in the NFL has allowed more points to opposing kickers than the Carolina Panthers - the numbers: 3.3 field goal attempts and 12.3 points per game.

If you're someone that prefers to play the matchups with kickers, Hauschka has substantial upside.
