Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: QB | RB | WR | TE | PK | DT

If you are serious about winning your fantasy league football championship, stay on top of your fantasy football team throughout the year.

Each week during the NFL fantasy football season, KFFL brings you its Fantasy Football Waiver Wire, which breaks down players to pick up. Be aggressive when picking up fantasy football free agents. Even if you do not need a player, you can tuck him away for depth or block others from adding him to their fantasy football team.

Fantasy football free agents: Priority additions

The following players should be high on your radar and are worthy of being added immediately to your fantasy football team.

NEW - Brian Westbrook, San Francisco 49ers (35 percent)

Day off for All Day?

His ownership has rightfully skyrocketed in the last day. Westbrook will likely be the lead back now that Frank Gore (hip) is on Injured Reserve. He flashed back to his 2007 self with 136 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries on Monday night. Sharing time with Anthony Dixon isn't a bad thing; it'll help conserve him. At this point, you need to go all out for him; it's hard to count on another majority-work back hitting the wire as the playoffs near.

Fantasy football free agents: Look to acquire

The following players will have greater significance in deep fantasy football leagues. In shallow fantasy football leagues, they are not as high of a priority but should be considered based on your fantasy football team's needs.

Tashard Choice, Dallas Cowboys (89 percent)

Running back Marion Barber III (calf) is expected to miss roughly two weeks, and his 12.00 average utilizations per game (last three weeks) have to go to someone. That someone is Choice, who has been productive when given the chance in his young career.

Last week, against the New Orleans Saints, Choice scored from the goal line after replacing Barber, who failed the play before. Choice will share the workload with Felix Jones but should be added in all formats.

Toby Gerhart, Minnesota Vikings (43 percent)

Adrian Peterson's ankle injury forced him out of Sunday's game and reportedly was very painful. He is day-to-day at the moment, and reports suggest he should be able to play in Week 13 against the Buffalo Bills. Nevertheless, Gerhart should be acquired by more people than just Peterson owners. In the event AD cannot play or is limited, Gerhart should play a large role for the Vikings.

Gerhart rushed for 76 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries in Week 12 against the Washington Redskins. Even if you rent Gerhart as a one-week play, the Bills have allowed 107.3 rushing yards and 0.75 ground scores per game in the past month. Through the air: Opposing running backs have averaged 6.00 receptions for 42.8 yards per game since Week 8.

NEW - Anthony Dixon, San Francisco 49ers (75 percent)

In replacing done-for-the-year Frank Gore (hip), Dixon will take some of the load off Brian Westbrook but warrants an acquisition as a consolation prize. Dixon belly-flopped for a short-yardage score in Week 12 - he'll see similar work moving forward, which won't make for a bad flex play if your RB corps is hurting.

Mark, at 03:29 on 11/30/10, says: Westbrook is the obvious choice for anyone reading the news of Gore's IR. A better question is whether Anthony Dixon is worth the pick up. Given Westbrook's injury history and the upcoming FF playoff schedule, I think so. I just dropped Torain for him.

Mark, at 03:37 on 11/30/10, says: Todd: Bush should be fine for the rest of the season although it make take a while for him to readjust, but he needs to be more involved on offense. Last week, Julius Jones (10) and Chris Ivory (seven) had more carries than Bush, and he also should touch the ball more as a receiver. His numbers will go up. Thomas is the better long-term prospect, but how soon will he return and where will he fit in when he does? If you need someone off the wire to win this week, I'd be inclined to drop Thomas. Ivory now has three touchdowns in his past two games after scoring in Week 11 against Seattle. He is probably good for another week, at most two, but his value will decline once Thomas gets in the mix. If you're already set for the FF playoffs and going for week 15 and 16 potential, I'd drop him instead of Thomas.
