Fantasy Baseball Closer Hot Seat - AL

by Tim Heaney on September 14, 2010 @ 11:50:00 PDT

In fantasy baseball, the closer position remains volatile. Rarely does every closer hang on to the job for an entire season - injuries, poor performance and managerial decisions can cloud a team's bullpen picture.

Should you be concerned about a struggling stopper? Which relievers are climbing the depth chart? Are any injuries popping up?'s Fantasy Baseball Closer Hot Seat keeps you informed when you're looking for saves.

Oakland Athletics RP Andrew Bailey
Bailey is looking oh-K again

Mound meetings

  • Andrew Bailey had a little bit of trouble for the second straight save chance, but the Oakland Athletics' righty wrapped things up Monday for his 24th sealed deal in 27 chances. Despite his recent hiccups, Bailey has a 1.17 ERA and a 0.78 WHIP - with just one walk - in his 7 2/3 innings since returning from the DL.
Bailey's K/9 has declined this year (7.69, down from 9.83 last season), but his dominance rate stands at 14.09 since his return.
