Fantasy Baseball Diamond Market - NL

Fantasy baseball waivers and the acquisition of fantasy baseball free agents can make or break your season. Your fantasy baseball cheat sheets won't help you after spring training. If your team remains the same after opening day, you will have trouble competing in your rotisserie baseball league.

Do you need to replace your fantasy baseball busts? Which fantasy baseball players can you ignore? KFFL.com's Fantasy Baseball Diamond Market gives you fantasy baseball tips and insight to sort through the masses quickly.

Key

Acquire Add player (in most circumstances)
Consider Add for speculation or because of need
Watch Track player, consider if trend continues
Pass Do not add player (in most circumstances)

Catchers

Brayan Pena, C, Kansas City Royals

Kansas City Royals C Brayan Pena
Extended look?

Now that Jason Kendall (shoulder) is definitely out for the rest of the year, Pena should play often. Pena hit .273 with six homers and 18 RBIs in 165 at-bats last year but had trouble getting going this season in such limited duty; he has accrued a mere 80 at-bats in 2010.

He's 8-for-20 with three RBIs in his last five games and deserves a look. The club brought up prospect Lucas May when rosters expanded; the 24-year-old is likely to affect Pena's playing time, but early on, Pena is expected to play more.

Shallow mixed: Pass
