In fantasy baseball, the closer position remains volatile. Rarely does every closer hang on to the job for an entire season - injuries, poor performance and managerial decisions can cloud a team's bullpen picture. Should you be concerned about a struggling stopper? Which relievers are climbing the depth chart? Are any injuries popping up? KFFL.com's Fantasy Baseball Closer Hot Seat keeps you informed when you're looking for saves. Key
Houston AstrosCloser: Matt Lindstrom Understudy: Brandon Lyon
With Tuesday's blown save, Lindstrom has given up seven combined runs and botched a closure in two of his last three outings. He'll be rested for the next few days to ease up on his back spasms and perhaps clear his head. However, before that announcement, Lindstrom received the long-term closer blessings of manager Bradley Mills. Before his last three games, Lindstrom boasted a clean 10-game streak, which included a spotless July ERA. The non-competitive Astros are likely content with playing things out to see what they have in whom they have previously deemed their long-term stopper. If you're running out of options to keep you in saves contention in your league, however, Lyon might see a chance or two this week and isn't a terrible short-term pickup. Don't expect him to help for too long, though, unless Lindstrom's back worsens. Job security score: 4 Health score: 4 Mound meetings
