Fantasy baseball waivers and the acquisition of fantasy baseball free agents can make or break your season. Your fantasy baseball cheat sheets won't help you after spring training. If your team remains the same after opening day, you will have trouble competing in your rotisserie baseball league. Do you need to replace your fantasy baseball busts? Which fantasy baseball players can you ignore? KFFL.com's Fantasy Baseball Diamond Market gives you fantasy baseball tips and insight to sort through the masses quickly. Key
CatchersLou Marson, C, Cleveland Indians Messiah Carlos Santana displaced Marson earlier this year, but Santana sustained a left knee sprain this past weekend and is on the 15-day DL. The Tribe called up Marson, who'll presumably take over starting duties for the foreseeable future.
Chris Gimenez was Santana's backup and could see time there, but he's more of a utility player who is well-schooled in the art of catching. Marson can handle a staff extremely well. He has the makings of a hitter who can produce an acceptable average, but he hasn't come close to proving it in the bigs. That's Torii Hunter territory; the vet agreed to move to right to accommodate the youngster. Bobby Abreu also moved, from right to left. Bourjos is an accomplished minor league hitter (.293 lifetime average) who's a thief at heart (109 swipes in his past two and a half seasons). His 2010 power breakthrough (13 homers for Triple-A Salt Lake) is likelier a product of PCL hitting environments. His peripherals aren't incredibly saber-friendly, but he's reportedly improving his approach. Bourjos may have trouble hitting better than .250 in his initial exposure to major league pitching, but he's one of the fastest players in baseball. His speed will help him make that up, a little. The Halos are looking for a shot in the arm. They wouldn't ask two mainstays to change positions if it wasn't a long-term trial; they'd just give one a night off.
