Fantasy baseball waivers and the acquisition of fantasy baseball free agents can make or break your season. Your fantasy baseball cheat sheets won't help you after spring training. If your team remains the same after opening day, you will have trouble competing in your rotisserie baseball league.

Do you need to replace your fantasy baseball busts? Which fantasy baseball players can you ignore?'s Fantasy Baseball Diamond Market gives you fantasy baseball tips and insight to sort through the masses quickly.

Acquire Add player (in most circumstances)
Watch Track player, add if trend continues
Pass Do not add player (in most circumstances)

Jason Jaramillo, C, Pittsburgh Pirates

Pittsburgh Pirates C Ryan Doumit
PIT C duty split with Doumit DLed

The Pirates recalled Jaramillo when they placed Ryan Doumit (concussion) on the disabled list. Erik Kratz, 30, replaced Jaramillo, who was hitting .164 in 67 at-bats, a couple of weeks ago as the backup backstop. The Pirates say the two will split duties while Doumit is out.

See Justin Morneau for frustrating concussion cases. When will Doumit be back? Kratz is a career minor leaguer with some serious power but pretty poor BA skills. He's 2-for-16 with the Bucs.

Jaramillo is a better target - if you're truly desperate - for the PT. He's a switch-hitter who batted .252 last year. He has little pop but more potential than Kratz to make any sort of non-negative contribution.
