In fantasy baseball, the closer position remains volatile. Rarely does every closer hang on to the job for an entire season - injuries, poor performance and managerial decisions can cloud a team's bullpen picture. Should you be concerned about a struggling stopper? Which relievers are climbing the depth chart? Are any injuries popping up? KFFL.com's Fantasy Baseball Closer Hot Seat keeps you informed when you're looking for saves. Key
Toronto Blue JaysCloser: Kevin Gregg Understudy: Jason Frasor Lurkers: Scott Downs The Jays have made Gregg available for trade to go along with their two in-demand setup men. Gregg has improved over his last eight outings, allowing only one hit and one walk since June 10, when you discount a June 23 gaffe.
It's doubtful any of these options would close if they leave Toronto, unless they were to head to Arizona. If Gregg exits, we might see a co-closer situation between Frasor and Downs. However, Frasor should be your first target if you're hoping Gregg is swapped, considering they've wanted Downs to remain in setup duty for the whole season. This news probably means Gregg owners have missed their chance to sell him before the MLB trade deadline - not that he's hurting you much right now. If someone hasn't heard the news, maybe you should try to peddle him if you feel you're OK in saves. Job security score: 4 Health score: 4 Mound meetings
