Fantasy Football Sleepers and Undervalued PicksFantasy football undervalued players: Place kickers
By Cory J. Bonini and Tim Heaney KFFL.com's analysis of fantasy football undervalued players for the 2010 season will be updated weekly throughout the offseason. We have separated our sleepers and undervalued players this year, so be sure not to confuse the two. Sleepers are also undervalued players in some cases. Yet, you can still have a hidden gem on your hands, even if appropriately drafted, as long as you identify the right characteristics that go into making up a sleeper. No one likes doing the dirty work, so let KFFL.com do it for you! Be sure to check for weekly updates. Note: All average draft position (ADP) figures are based on 12-team, non-PPR leagues unless specified otherwise. Place kickersNick Folk | New York Jets | ADP: N/A The Jets have given Folk a new lease on life after a tumultuous end to his three-year stint as a Dallas Cowboy. The Jets' offense should put Folk in plenty of situations to kick field goals after tying for the second most attempts last year (36). Prior to last year's meltdown, Folk enjoyed a pair of fine seasons. He connected on 46 of his 53 career attempts (86.8 percent) and made all of his 95 extra point tries. His long has been at least 51 yards in each of this three NFL seasons. Fantasy value: Following a terrible season (64.3 field goal percentage), Folk is being ignored by fantasy owners. He is the 30th kicker drafted, on average, which is laughable considering how good he was and how many attempts the Jets can offer. Snatch him up as your starter in the final round. Matt Bryant | Atlanta Falcons | ADP: N/A The vet held off Steven Hauschka to win the starting job, and the Falcons' offense is growing enough under quarterback Matt Ryan that more points could come from this position. Bryant's leg isn't much for long three-pointers anymore (1-for-4 on 40-plus kicks in five games last year), but his accuracy has been solid overall with recent 84.4 percent (2007) and 84.2 percent (2008) performances. A move to a dome ensures that many of Bryant's boots won't be affected by the elements. Fantasy value: Bryant can come at a last-round value if you're saving your kicker for your last pick (a good idea). He was serviceable as a kicker for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Since you should consider a team's offense when taking a kicker, this is an opportunity for Bryant to repeat his recent full-time success. Also See:
