Fantasy baseball closer depth charts: AL | NL
In fantasy baseball, the closer position remains volatile. Rarely does every closer hang on to the job for an entire season - injuries, poor performance and managerial decisions can cloud a team's bullpen picture.
Should you be concerned about a struggling stopper? Which relievers are climbing the depth chart? Are any injuries popping up? KFFL.com's Fantasy Baseball Closer Hot Seat keeps you informed when you're looking for saves.

Capps off? Not exactly
|
Matt Lindstrom helped himself to a
win yesterday with a side of blown save. For the second straight appearance,
he gave up two runs on three hits. This time, he didn't walk any batters,
though - encouraging for his control. His leash is still pretty sizable, but
you'll want to at least throw Brandon Lyon
on your watch list if you're desperate for saves or as a handcuff to Lindy.
- The Washington Nationals' Matt
Capps blew another save yesterday - this one not totally his fault.
One runner was on with two outs when Capps gave up a flyball to right field.
It would have been out three, but Cristian Guzman
dropped it.
Capps then gave up a walkoff two-run shot to the next batter. Only three of
the eight runs he has given up in his last five appearances have been earned.
Consider moving Capps
if he rights himself for a few appearances. Tyler
Clippard is probably their first alternative right now if Capps spirals
out of control, but if it's a long descent by Capps, then Drew
Storen is probably the best bet.
- Jonny Venters vultured a save for
the Atlanta Braves yesterday. Takashi
Saito hurt his left hamstring after recording the first two outs in
the ninth. Venters finished off Saito's inning on one pitch.
Closer Billy Wagner was unavailable
after throwing in the previous two games and six times in the previous eight
days.
