In fantasy baseball, the closer position remains volatile. Rarely does every closer hang on to the job for an entire season - injuries, poor performance and managerial decisions can cloud a team's bullpen picture.

Should you be concerned about a struggling stopper? Which relievers are climbing the depth chart? Are any injuries popping up?'s Fantasy Baseball Closer Hot Seat keeps you informed when you're looking for saves.

Mound meetings

  • Chicago White Sox RP Bobby Jenks
    Once again, it's Bobby's World
Chicago White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen reiterated his commitment to closer Bobby Jenks yesterday. Jenks gave up one hit but struck out two yesterday for his first save since May 22.
Matt Thornton, Chicago's lefty setup option and backup stopper, is still a fantasy candidate in deep leagues.
  • Brian Fuentes endured a shaky ninth - is that a surprise? - as the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim stopper allowed a two-run jack to bring the Kansas City Royals within one. Then KC went flyout, walk and backwards K to end the game.
His ERA climbed to 5.93. He's not the safest closer, but that's nothing new. You'll just have to keep riding him and try to stash Fernando Rodney.
