In fantasy baseball, the closer position remains volatile. Rarely does every closer hang on to the job for an entire season - injuries, poor performance and managerial decisions can cloud a team's bullpen picture.
Should you be concerned about a struggling stopper? Which relievers are climbing the depth chart? Are any injuries popping up? KFFL.com's Fantasy Baseball Closer Hot Seat keeps you informed when you're looking for saves.

Brox not rocking saves
|
The Los Angeles Dodgers could use Jonathan
Broxton in non-save situations to get him more work. J-Brox has made
just four appearances since April 15; his last was April 30.
He has had only two save opportunities this year. More frequent appearances
would help his contribution in the K, ERA and WHIP categories, but you'll
have to be patient on the SVOs. And maybe check if your league's Broxton owner
is becoming impatient....
- San Francisco Giants closer Brian
Wilson didn't make it easy yesterday. He allowed two singles, hit
a batter and needed a strikeout to escape with the save in the ninth.
The save opportunity was there largely because of Sergio
Romo's effort in the eighth. With the bases loaded and no outs, Romo
came on and struck out the Florida Marlins' Hanley
Ramirez before inducing a groundout from Jorge
Cantu.
Wilson has pitched on back-to-back days and might not be available if a save
chance arises Thursday. Wilson and Romo have each pitched on consecutive nights,
meaning Jeremy Affeldt might be used
if a sitch comes up.
- Updating yesterday's
note on the Colorado Rockies' Huston
Street, he'll be re-evaluated Monday if his Friday rehab appearance
goes well at extended spring training. If he checks out OK, he could be
sent on a minor league rehab assignment shortly after.
