In fantasy baseball, the closer position remains volatile. Rarely does every closer hang on to the job for an entire season - injuries, poor performance and managerial decisions can cloud a team's bullpen picture.

Should you be concerned about a struggling stopper? Which relievers are climbing the depth chart? Are any injuries popping up?'s Fantasy Baseball Closer Hot Seat keeps you informed when you're looking for saves.

Mound meetings

  • The New York Yankees' Mariano Rivera threw 10 to 15 pitches in a bullpen session Tuesday and likely will be available today, though Joe Girardi would prefer not to use him.
New York is off tomorrow, and Girardi would like to give Mo the extra two days off, if possible. Joba Chamberlain, saver of the last two Yanks' wins, probably won't be available, so Girardi's options could be limited in a save situation. If Girardi doesn't go with Mo, he'll probably play the matchups.
