QB Sam Bradford
No.
Team Player
Pos
School Notes/others considered
1
St. Louis Rams Sam Bradford
QB
Oklahoma I don't see how they can go in another direction; Bradford is their man.
2
Detroit Lions Ndamukong Suh
DT
Nebraska Not a cure-all, but Suh certainly is a step in the right direction; still think trading out is a strong possibility.
3
Tampa Bay Buccaneers Gerald McCoy
DT
Oklahoma Big help against the run and can get to the QB
4
Washington Redskins Russell Okung
OT
Oklahoma State They landed their QB, so it's time to protect him.
5
Kansas City Chiefs Bryan Bulaga
OT
Iowa Trade down or Eric Berry?
6
Seattle Seahawks Eric Berry
S
Tennessee OT is their No. 1 priority; Anthony Davis a possibility, but Berry is too good to pass up.
7
Cleveland Browns C.J. Spiller
RB
Clemson Team can go any direction; CB no longer a need. I expect them to trade down if someone is willing to move up.
8
Oakland Raiders Trent Williams
OT
Oklahoma Al Davis can be unpredictable, but Williams fits one of their biggest needs.
9
Buffalo Bills Jimmy Clausen
QB
Notre Dame OT a possibility. Not sold on Clausen to the Bills, since they reportedly prefer a more athletic quarterback.
10
Jacksonville Jaguars Mike Iupati
OG
Idaho A lot of options, but why not improve what you already do best and what your team is built around?
11
Denver Broncos (from Chicago Bears) Rolando McClain
ILB
Alabama Best 3-4 ILB in the draft - could change if Mario Haggan moves inside and Robert Ayers starts on the strong side
12
Miami Dolphins Brandon Graham
DE/OLB
Michigan Pass-rusher huge need. NT and WR make sense, too.
13
San Francisco 49ers Joe Haden
CB
Florida OT a need, but they can get by until Round 2.
14
Seattle Seahawks (from Denver Broncos) Anthony Davis
OT
Rutgers SEA desperately needs a LT - Williams may be gone by this pick, though.
15
New York Giants Sean Weatherspoon
LB
Missouri Can play middle or OLB; great fit - tackle machine
16
Tennessee Titans Derrick Morgan
DE
Georgia Tech Kyle Vanden Bosch is gone; TEN needs to get to the QB more often. Jason Pierre-Paul instead?
17
San Francisco 49ers (from Carolina Panthers) Earl Thomas
FS
Texas Dashon Goldson can play both safety positions. Much like with SF's No. 13 pick, I think they can wait on OT.
18
Pittsburgh Steelers Dan Williams
NT
Tennessee NT not a high priority, but I keep coming back to Williams fitting well with the Steelers. CB a strong possibility
19
Atlanta Falcons Jason Pierre-Paul
DE
South Florida Jamaal Anderson isn't a pass rusher, and John Abraham is one year closer to retiring. OLB instead?
20
Houston Texans Dez Bryant
WR
Oklahoma State HOU needs another playmaker at WR; Owen Daniels may not return at 100 percent, too; RB can wait - add a big body in Round 2
21
Cincinnati Bengals Jahvid Best
RB
California Gives CIN a change-of-pace to Cedric Benson and a home run threat their running game doesn't have.
22
New England Patriots Sergio Kindle
OLB
Texas Patriots need a pass-rushing OLB; Kindle brings a lot to the table and seems to fit the type of player BB and Co. target.
23
Green Bay Packers Kyle Wilson
CB
Boise State Best player available is GB's style, but Wilson also fills a big need.
24
Philadelphia Eagles Kareem Jackson
CB
Alabama CB depth is a must. LB help will be considered, too, as will safety depth. Taylor Mays? Patrick Robinson?
25
Baltimore Ravens Carlos Dunlap
DE
Florida WR no longer a concern; a top-notch cornerback still is, though. Still, Dunlap helps fill a big need.
26
Arizona Cardinals Jerry Hughes
OLB
TCU Arizona needs a 3-4 OLB pass-rushing specialist to groom after adding Joey Porter. Clark Haggans isn't getting any younger, either.
27
Dallas Cowboys Bruce Campbell
OT
Maryland Need a replacement for Flozell Adams; could groom Campbell for a year behind Doug Free.
28
San Diego Chargers Ryan Mathews
RB
Fresno State Mathews is the most complete back. Terrence Cody? SD can go in a number of directions: NT, OT, CB
29
New York Jets Jared Odrick
DE/NT
Penn State Versatile player - fits their 3-4 DE need
30
Minnesota Vikings Patrick Robinson
CB
Florida State Whether it's Robinson, Devin McCourty or another, CB makes a lot of sense.
31
Indianapolis Colts Brian Price
DT
UCLA Cornerback possible?
32
New Orleans Saints Daryl Washington
OLB
TCU Don't be shocked if they draft Jermaine Gresham to replace Jeremy Shockey eventually.

Dane, at 05:22 on 02/12/10, says:

New England needs defensive help as a priority and will not take a TE with the first pick. Odrick, Kindle, or Graham would be better options in your mock draft.

2

Cory J. Bonini, at 10:01 on 02/12/10, says:

We've seen NE ignore defensive needs before and draft offense in the first round. I agree, there is reason to believe they will go with a defensive pick, but it won't be Odrick if they re-sign Wilfork. Keep in mind, they have two second-year defensive linemen waiting in the wings. Graham's versatility makes a lot of sense for the Pats.

3

preston, at 10:08 on 02/13/10, says:

This is a pretty good mock draft, though I see the chargers going with a more complete back than cj. I think he'll be gone by then as well. Ryan Matthews is gonna show off his skills at the combine.

4

Ryan, at 10:29 on 02/14/10, says:

Clausen will not only be the best QB from this draft but will be a "Star". Lost a 1,000 yards passing because of dropped passes. Gilyard will the best WR from the draft and is a stud/game changer/WINNER!!! McCutchens is the next Chris Johnson. Unreal speed with toughness. Will be STEAL of draft wherever he's pick and the BEST PLAYER FROM THIS DRAFT!

5

Cory J. Bonini, at 07:57 on 02/15/10, says:

Preston, I think Spiller will be too tough to pass up, and the way Norv Turner would use backs will make him lessen any concerns of Spiller being a complete back. I think he's more complete than people believe. I love me some Ryan Mathews, too! He very well could wind up as the most productive back in this class.

6

Dan, at 03:23 on 02/17/10, says:

With so much quality and depth on Defense. Teams at the top are crazy not to trade down and add picks in later rounds then take RBS, QBs and WRs in late 1st and take the needs in 2nd 3rd and 4th rounds. I predict many of the DTs, DEs, LBs and CBs in the later rounds will be as good or better than the 1st rounders, and be better off simply for being on better teams

7

Arizcardfan, at 05:12 on 02/17/10, says:

O understand the De/LB Hybrid thing but we need LB so why not draft someoen who playd the position instead of someone who may or may not pan out??

8

Andrew, at 11:06 on 02/18/10, says:

Is Spiller really an everydown RB? I thought he wasn't very big.

9

alexpkeaton, at 12:51 on 02/18/10, says:

I really don't think NE goes TE in the first round when they sorely need a pass rusher. Graham would have been the pick IMO.

10

alexpkeaton, at 12:51 on 02/18/10, says:

...or Kindle.

11

Dan, at 02:59 on 02/18/10, says:

The Steelers always pick Value before need. The only time in many years they chose Need first was OG Alan Faneca and that's because he was also the best value.... If a RB, QB, WR. or CB slip down they will pick one before all there meeds at OL and NG. They have Ziggy Hood and Hoke and believe they can teach 5th thru 7th round lineman how to do the job.

12

Checkers, at 05:20 on 02/18/10, says:

Not a big fan of Bowman with his troubled past going in the first round. Too many players have been suspended for problems off the field that I do not think he goes tha high. If he had no off the field questions, it would be a great pick.

13

Tom, at 10:37 on 03/01/10, says:

Pittsburgh needs OL and DB help. They just re-signed Hampton to a new contract. I say they go OL here in the first round, and trade or sign a FA for the DB help. I think Iupati would be a perfect Steeler. Big, nasty guy.

14

steve, at 06:29 on 03/06/10, says:

The Bengals already have a fast back in Bernard Scott. They need a fast wr,off guard help, safety, and more depth at corner.Jonathan joseph and leon hall are over rated. They get beat constantly.

15

Corey, at 01:59 on 03/07/10, says:

Kindle dropping to 29? He likely won't get past the top 10-12 picks.

16

Paul, at 05:54 on 03/09/10, says:

Im sorry at 1st glance this mock is AWFUL. Not even close, heres the problem though. There are quite a few players possible 40-50 that would normally be drafted in the 1st round. I like your 2nd part of the mock more. No way in hell St Louis doesnt take Bradford. I really believe Detroit is gonna take Okung, their bread and butter is Stafford to Calvin, OKUNG is the pick for the next 15 years at LT. TBay takes Suh, and all of a sudden Washington is sitting there staring at McCoy...TRADE? Dez Bryant to Denver? DO you really think they want to go thru that nonsense again? Dez is Baby Marshall....

17

SHANKAPOTAMUS, at 09:10 on 03/09/10, says:

No way Bengals take Spiller. B.Scott already fills the speed back role. They'll add to a very talented D or possibly a WR if the right one falls through.

18

steve, at 09:32 on 03/11/10, says:

I dont see Bengals taking a wr now that Bryant has been signed.Their needs now are OG,S,and someone that can get to the qb on defense.

19

bob, at 05:49 on 03/13/10, says:

Paul makes a lot of sense. I think Shannie is going to be thrilled to see Claussen at 4 though. Why build your team around Campbell? Then I think KC might grab Berry at 5, pushing McCoy out of the top 5. Why is no one criticizing Bradford though? Every year the #1 QB gets pulled through the wringer on all of his flaws. This guy is coming off a shoulder injury and hasn't spent much time in an NFL offense. Shouldn't we at least be asking why anyone thinks he's better than Clausen?

20

Steve, at 06:16 on 03/14/10, says:

Well you can cross safety off the Bengals needs list as they re-signed Roy Williams. He's had surgery to hopefully fix his broken forearm and intends to be back to his pro bowl form. The Bengals hope to sign guard Bobbie Williams very soon. Its getting to look like the Bengals wont really have any area of great need come draft time and will be able to just take the best player reguardless of position.

21

Shawn, at 12:21 on 03/16/10, says:

Bengals taking Dunlap?? No way. The defense last season was one of the best in the league and all starters are returning. The offense was miserable at times due to the fact that they had no passing attack to complement the running game. So why in the world does Dunlap make sense here?? Bengals will go offense first round.

22

Cory J. Bonini, at 12:52 on 03/16/10, says:

Corey - I think you are grossly overvaluing Kindle. Bob - Bradford's shoulder isn't that big of a concern. Drew Brees had essentially the same procedure done, and we've seen how much that has hurt him. Bradford simply came back too early last year. Shawn - See post No. 18. Cincy needs to get to the quarterback and maintain against the run. I can see Dunlap rotating with Geathers to help keep Geathers fresh as a pass rusher. The Bengals have zero pass rush right now. I can see them possibly going with a situational guy here, too, like a Sapp or Hughes, but I don't think they'll pass on Dunlap's potential. Steve - I can see the Bengals drafting Spiller. We have no idea what they have in Bernard Scott, and they aren't tied to him financially. Spiller is a big-play threat that the offense lacks. However, they need defense end help more. Keep in mind, these mocks change fairly often, and all it takes is one trade to screw up everything. :)

23

triplea, at 03:28 on 03/16/10, says:

I would agree that the Bengals could use a little help on the pass rush, but we already have someone to rotate with Geathers, Micheal Johnson, anyone? Bengals will go best available, if they lean toward positional need it will fall in the secondary or linebacking on D or on offense they will look at O-line and TE/WR.

24

Capt, at 06:00 on 03/18/10, says:

No way. Despite needing an OT real bad, Chiefs will take Eric berry at #5 if available. Chiefs blew it last year when they passed on Aaron Curry and Seattle took him right away. They should not give Seattle the same opportunity this year.

25

ernie smith, at 01:12 on 03/20/10, says:

The Texas like Thomas but would take Spiller if he were there at pick 20. I follow the Texan's here in Houston religiously, and they would not pass up Spiller and would be tempted to take Mathews over Thomas also. The running game is the top priority.
