Hudson was benched late in the season, and Hudson revealed after the season that manager Joe Torre never spoke to him about the situation.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports Cleveland Indians free-agent IF Jamey Carroll hasn't closed the door on returning to the team, saying he enjoyed his time in Cleveland. DeRosa's agents' response to signing a soon-to-be 35-year-old to such a contract is that DeRosa has been used lightly most of his career, and he's younger from a baseball perspective. He is willing to start at third base or move around in a utility role.
