OF | Michael Saunders | Seattle Mariners | Fantasy
The Tacoma News Tribune's Larry LaRue reports that Seattle Mariners OF Michael Saunders found success playing winter ball in Venezuela using a new batting stance taught to him by Mariners hitting coach Alan Cockrell. In 22 games, Saunders hit .353 with three doubles, three triples, two home runs and 17 RBIs in 85 at-bats. He also scored 18 runs and posted a .421 on-base percentage. Saunders said the change in his stance was subtle, but allowed him to stay with his legs more than he had been. "I'm driving my back knee a little more, and with more bend in the knees, it allows me to stay back, stay through the ball more," he said.
Starting Pitcher
SP | Kevin Millwood | Texas Rangers | Fantasy

SP | Derek Lowe | Atlanta Braves | Fantasy
According to The Boston Globe's Nick Cafardo, Atlanta Braves SP Derek Lowe said he has not been asked by the team if he would like to be traded and added that he loves pitching in Atlanta. However, the four-year, $60 million contract he signed last offseason does not include a no-trade clause. Lowe said that he has been working with trainer Chris Correnti this offseason to correct a mechanical flaw in his delivery, after he allowed a National League-leading 232 hits in 194 2/3 innings last season and failed to pitch at least seven innings in all but two of his final 21 starts.
SP | Daniel McCutchen | Pittsburgh Pirates | Fantasy
Pittsburgh Pirates SP Daniel McCutchen will likely start 2010 in the minor leagues if he does not beat out other pitchers for a spot in the rotation, according to The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
SP | Jake McGee | Tampa Bay Rays | Injury News, Fantasy
The St. Petersburg Times' Joe Smith reports Tampa Bay Rays P prospect Jake McGee (elbow), who is recovering from Tommy John surgery, may go to the bullpen when he returns. "I'd like that role a lot, actually," he said. "Just the adrenaline going out and knowing I have only one inning for three outs. Pitch for pitch, I can give it all I got." Rays executive vice president Andrew Friedman said they haven't given up on McGee as a starter, but he acknowledges he has "the upside to pitch really well in the back part of a game."
