In this article KFFL breaks down the fantasy football sleepers of the week. We will avoid marquee names because players of that caliber are rarely benched, regardless of their matchup. Instead, we will focus on the players that make your fantasy lineup decisions stressful each week. Read on to learn which midrange to low-end players that you wouldn't necessarily consider that you need to get into your lineup.

Note: All statistics are from Week 7 to Week 10, unless otherwise noted.

Fantasy football sleepers: Tight ends

Brandon Pettigrew, Detroit Lions vs. Cleveland Browns

Fantasy value: Low-end No. 1

  • Despite his Week 10 drop issues, Pettigrew has settled in as a steady part of Detroit's offense, which has struggled to find complementary options to help wideout Calvin Johnson. The rookie tight end has averaged 6.0 looks per game.
  • The Browns have surrendered an average of only 4.33 catches and 0.33 touchdown grabs per game to tight ends, but Cleveland holds the league's highest receiving average (15.2) allowed to this position.

Bo Scaife, Tennessee Titans at Houston Texans

Fantasy value: No. 1 or flex

  • Tennessee Titans TE Bo Scaife
Bo knows Vince - take notice
Scaife had six targets in Week 10, which led all members of the receiving game plan, as wideout Justin Gage (back) missed the game and could be out for longer. With former college teammate Vince Young at quarterback, we deduce Scaife should continue to be involved.
  • The Texans have allowed the most receptions (7.67), the third most yards (74.3) and, along with two other teams, have allowed the most scores (1.00) per game to this position. They haven't faced many offensively inclined tight ends, but when they have, they've been steamrolled: See the Indianapolis Colts in Week 9 and the San Francisco 49ers in Week 7.
  • The University of Texas alum can be scooped up for a one-week play, and any increase in targets could make him a useful backup for flex play in deep leagues. He's available in about 83 percent of polled leagues.
