Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: QB | RB | WR | TE | PK | DT

If you are serious about winning your fantasy league football championship, stay on top of your fantasy football team throughout the year.

Each week during the NFL fantasy football season, KFFL brings you its Fantasy Football Waiver Wire, which breaks down players to pick up. Be aggressive when picking up fantasy football free agents. Even if you do not need a player, you can tuck him away for depth or block others from adding him to their fantasy football team.

Fantasy football free agents: Look to acquire

The following players will have greater significance in deep fantasy football leagues. In shallow fantasy football leagues, they are not as high of a priority but should be considered based on your fantasy football team's needs.

Josh Freeman, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (94 percent)

We were a bit skeptical last week about Freeman's value as a fantasy QB; well, he enjoyed a fine first start (205 yards, three TDs) against a fairly tough pass defense. Don't get too worked up, though. The Green Bay Packers defense didn't do a great job putting pressure on Freeman among other things, and he only went 14-for-31 on the day.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB Josh Freeman
Freeman a depth option

Tampa Bay was coming out of their bye week, giving the coaching staff extra time to prepare the rookie for Green Bay. There should be more game film on Freeman after last week, too, and he'll have to make three of his next four starts on the road. It'll help that two of those starts are against defenses favorable to this position (Miami Dolphins in Week 10, Atlanta Falcons in Week 12). The Carolina Panthers in Week 11 probably won't be a poor matchup, either.

Improving as the game went along, Freeman showed enough last week to warrant inclusion on deep, three-QB rosters. The kid has a decent arm, and the Bucs should be playing from behind a fair bit (as they were last week), which could lead to plenty of garbage-time points.
