Fantasy Football Waiver Wire: QB | RB | WR | TE | PK | DT

If you are serious about winning your fantasy league football championship, stay on top of your fantasy football team throughout the year.

Each week during the NFL fantasy football season, KFFL brings you its Fantasy Football Waiver Wire, which breaks down players to pick up. Be aggressive when picking up fantasy football free agents. Even if you do not need a player, you can tuck him away for depth or block others from adding him to their fantasy football team.

Fantasy football free agents: Look to acquire

The following players will have greater significance in deep fantasy football leagues. In shallow fantasy football leagues, they are not as high of a priority but should be considered based on your fantasy football team's needs.

Josh Johnson, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (93 percent)

Whoever throws for Tampa Bay will put up garbage-time statistics. Johnson recorded 50 tosses, including two touchdowns, in Week 5. Of course, he was also picked thrice, but the shifty Johnson can create with his wheels, too. He has averaged 40.5 ground yards in his two starts. A low-end fantasy No. 2 and solid No. 3? Even if Tampa makes another switch, there's little risk.

Fantasy football free agents: One-week plays

The following fantasy football pickups are for those who need injury or bye week replacements. They are not players you immediately acquire - unless your team is in dire straights. Some have, however, shown some life and should be followed in case they materialize as options beyond their temporary use.

Marc Bulger, St. Louis Rams (90 percent)

Zach Miller, TE, Oakland Raiders
Bulger worth a start this week

He's waiting to see how he feels after his late appearance in the Rams' 38-10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, but Bulger (shoulder) thinks he'll start this week. He was sharp - 7-for-7, 88 yards, one TD pass - in relief of Kyle Boller (concussion). The Vikes weren't exactly playing for keeps, but if Bulger carries that momentum into Week 6, look out. He'll visit the Jacksonville Jaguars, whom the Seattle Seahawks' Matt Hasselbeck just torched for 241 yards and four touchdowns. QBs have passed for 272.5 yards and 2.5 scores, with 0.75 interceptions, per game against the Jags in the past four weeks. Bulger could be worth holding if he begins to deliver in situations like this one.

NEW - Daunte Culpepper, Detroit Lions (94 percent)

In replacing the sidelined Matthew Stafford (knee) in Week 5, Culpepper rewarded those brave or unfortunate enough to start him with a decent line in a surprisingly competitive game: 23-for-37, 282 yards and one touchdown, with one interception. Culpepper will have the same chances to display firepower for a Lions team that should be playing from behind often. It looks like Stafford's status is unknown for Week 6, meaning Culpepper could face the Green Bay Packers. Despite containing opposing passers' yardage production, the Pack has allowed 2.67 touchdowns per game to slingers in the last four weeks (three games). Stay tuned to see who starts for Detroit.
