Carrie Muskat, of MLB.com, reports Chicago Cubs 3B Aramis Ramirez (shoulder) does not appear to be favoring his shoulder when he is swinging, but hitting coach Von Joshua saw Ramirez cringe during a swing against the Washington Nationals. "I've noticed he's taken some swings where he's lost his balance," Joshua said. "He needs to calm it down just a little bit. I keep hearing he's 85, 90 percent healthy. He's still a threat up there. You can see how guys are pitching him. It's going to take a few days."

Initially, Gonzalez could use Lindstrom in a setup role in the sixth, seventh or eighth inning with RP Leo Nunez continuing to close and RP Dan Meyer providing a left-handed alternative. Lindstrom will pitch in a rehab game with Class A Jupiter Saturday, July 25. After throwing on Saturday, he could pitch again on Monday, July 27, for Jupiter. From there, he would pitch every second or third day before being used in back-to-back games. If all goes well, Lindstrom could join the team in early August, perhaps when the team heads to Washington for a three-game series beginning Aug. 4.
