Free-agent 1B James Loney (Rays) has changed agencies, switching from CAA Sports to the Legacy Agency. Loney rebounded with the Rays in 2013, hitting .299 with 13 home runs. The Legacy Agency represents a number of high-profile clients including New York Yankees SP CC Sabathia, Los Angeles Dodgers OF Carl Crawford, Arizona Diamondbacks 2B Aaron Hill, Pittsburgh Pirates SP Francisco Liriano and Diamondbacks 3B Martin Prado.

Second Baseman

A New York Mets team source indicates the Mets may be in play for plenty of free agents this offseason, but free-agent 2B Robinson Cano (Yankees) can be crossed off the Mets' list.

Free-agent SS Stephen Drew (Red Sox) is expected to reject the Boston Red Sox's $14.1 million qualifying offer. Drew's agent, Scott Boras, is already setting up meetings for his client.

Third Baseman

The St. Louis Cardinals signed free-agent 3B Scott Moore (Padres) to a minor league deal Thursday, Nov. 7.

3B | Alex Rodriguez | New York Yankees | Fantasy
Updating previous items, whether or not New York Yankees 3B Alex Rodriguez returns to the team in 2014 will determine how much the Yankees have to spend. The Yankees will have $60 million off the books if Rodriguez returns and is not suspended. If he is suspended, the team could have as much as $90 million.

Major League Baseball announced its Silver Slugger Awards for the American League Wednesday, Nov. 6. The winners were Boston Red Sox DH David Ortiz, New York Yankees 2B Robinson Cano, Detroit Tigers 3B Miguel Cabrera, Minnesota Twins C Joe Mauer, Baltimore Orioles 1B Chris Davis, Baltimore Orioles SS J.J. Hardy, Baltimore Orioles OF Adam Jones, Detroit Tigers OF Torii Hunter and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim OF Mike Trout.

The New York Mets have reached out to free-agent OF Shin-Soo Choo (Reds) through his agent, Scott Boras, and the sides have not talked numbers. A team source indicates whether the Mets have a chance depends on Choo's price.

Free-agent SP Ervin Santana (Royals) is looking for more than $100 million over five years in his next contract.

SP | Martin Perez | Texas Rangers | Fantasy,
Texas Rangers SP Martin Perez will earn a $1 million bonus as part of his four-year, $12.5 million deal. He'll make $750,000 next year, $1 million in 2015, $2.9 million in 2016 and $4.4 million in 2017. His 2018 option is worth $6 million with a $2.45 million buyout. His 2019 option is worth $7.5 million and carries a $750,000 buyout and his 2020 option is worth $9 million with a $250,000 buyout.

Relief Pitcher

Although New York Yankees RP David Robertson would seem to be the heir apparent to CL Mariano Rivera, general manager Brian Cashman is not anointing him the closer just yet. "We haven't anointed anybody the closer, so I don't know," Cashman said. "I know Robertson wants it. But we'll see how the winter shakes out and how the competition in spring training takes place." The Yankees have been in contact with free-agent closers like Grant Balfour (Athletics)

RP | LaTroy Hawkins | free agent | Free Agents,
The Colorado Rockies are interested in signing free-agent RP LaTroy Hawkins (Mets), according to a source. Hawkins made $1 million this year and had a 2.93 ERA and 13 saves in 2013.

The Rockies would almost assuredly use Hawkins in some sort of a setup role if they signed him.
