By KFFL Staff

First Baseman

1B | Allen Craig | St. Louis Cardinals | Injury, Fantasy
St. Louis Cardinals 1B Allen Craig (foot) has recovered enough from his left foot sprain to be placed on the World Series roster, and he anticipates being the designated hitter in Game 1. Doctors believe he has recovered to the point where he's not risking a major setback.

Rust is expected, as he hasn't seen major-league pitching in six weeks. However, Craig's presence alone should be a factor early on in the series.

1B | Jose Abreu | Chicago White Sox | Transaction, Fantasy
The Chicago White Sox agreed to a six-year, $68 million deal with Cuban 1B Jose Abreu Thursday, Oct. 17, which will be the largest free-agent contract given to an international player. Abreu hit .453 with 33 home runs and 93 RBIs in 63 games in the 2010-11 season in Cuba and missed time with a shoulder ailment. He's expected to take over the first base position from 1B Paul Konerko, who is set to become a free agent and may retire. The Texas Rangers, Boston Red Sox, Houston Astros, Miami Marlins and San Francisco Giants were all interested in Abreu.

Second Baseman

2B | Brandon Phillips | Cincinnati Reds | Fantasy

New York is interested in bringing SP Hiroki Kuroda and Curtis Granderson back, too.

SS | Stephen Drew | Boston Red Sox | Fantasy
Boston Red Sox SS Stephen Drew will start again in Game 6 of the American League Championship Series against the Detroit Tigers Saturday, Oct. 19. "I know there's been a lot calling for Stephen's head, seemingly. But this is a very good player and in these games, defense is a premium," manager John Farrell said Friday, Oct. 18. "When a defensive play hasn't been made and you give a team an extra out, as good as these two teams are you're likely going to pay for that."

SS | Hanley Ramirez | Los Angeles Dodgers | Injury, Fantasy
Los Angeles Dodgers SS Hanley Ramirez (rib) was able to make the start in Game 6 of the National League Championship Series Friday, Oct. 18. He finished hitless in three at-bats, wrapping up the NLCS hitting just .133.

SS | Xander Bogaerts | Boston Red Sox | Fantasy

Puig was fabulous all season and into the playoffs, but he managed just five hits with two RBI and 10 strikeouts in 22 at-bats during the NLCS. Still, he'll be a high-round pick in fantasy leagues in 2014, and fantasy owners in long-term keeper leagues have to like what they have seen.

The Los Angeles Dodgers offered SP Clayton Kershaw a contract worth around $300 million at some point during the season, but no deal was reached because Kershaw was initially uncertain about committing to a deal so encompassing and did not want to have contract talks during the season. The two sides made enough progress that a deal is expected to be made this offseason.
