Fantasy football players in the news

QB | Brandon Weeden | Cleveland Browns | Fantasy
Cleveland Browns QB Brandon Weeden doesn't really have a solution to his batted-pass problem from a season ago. Weeden led the league with 21 batted passes in 2012 during his rookie season. "You really can't work on it," Weeden said. "It's something that if you think about it all the time, it will probably create more problems. I think there are a lot of reasons they happen. One being me patting the football, which I've talked about is one thing I've worked on this offseason to get rid of the habit of patting the football before you release it. That just gives those guys an extra half a second to jump up and bat it down."
QB | Kevin Kolb | Buffalo Bills | Depth Chart Tidbit, Fantasy
Buffalo Bills QB Kevin Kolb said he is not focused on the quarterback competition with QB EJ Manuel, but rather his own personal game as he learns a new offense. "Me personally I'm not even concerned with it," he said. "I haven't even thought about it really and that's the honest truth because I have so much to address personally as a player coming into a new system. I know EJ probably does as well being a rookie. That's kind of the way I would feel most guys are approaching it right now."
WR | Robert Meachem | San Diego Chargers | Transaction
The San Diego Chargers are unlikely to trade WR Robert Meachem before the season starts, according to Bill Williamson. Williamson points out Meachem is owed $5 million in guaranteed money and a team would have to be desperate to trade for him.
WR | Golden Tate | Seattle Seahawks | Transaction
The Seattle Seahawks have not given a long term contract offer to WR Golden Tate at this point.
TE | Aaron Hernandez | Free Agent | Free Agents, Fantasy
Key evidence has turned up on free-agent TE Aaron Hernandez (Patriots) after police searched a secret "flop house" that Hernandez had been renting. Police found a white hooded sweatshirt and a hat in a bedroom, and surveillance video showed Hernandez wearing a similar sweatshirt the nigh that Odin Lloyd was killed. "The white sweatshirt could be used ... to assist in linking Hernandez to the scene of the crime," trooper Michael Bates wrote in an affidavit in support of one of the search warrants. Several boxes of ammunition were also found at the house, including .22-, .45- and 7.62-caliber ammunition.
TE | Brandon Pettigrew | Detroit Lions | Depth Chart Tidbit
The Detroit Lions could keep four tight ends on the roster in 2013, although it is more likely they will keep three. The Lions currently have TEs Brandon Pettigrew, Tony Scheffler, Michael Williams, Joseph Fauria and Matt Veldman on the roster.
OG | Chance Warmack | Tennessee Titans | Depth Chart Tidbit
The Tennessee Titans have praised rookie OG Chance Warmack development after the team's offseason activities. "He came in with a great attitude," offensive line coach Bruce Matthews said. "He knew he was going to have to work and he's embraced it, so we're very pleased with his development so far."
OG | Chris Snee | New York Giants | Injury
New York Giants offensive line coach Pat Flaherty said OG Chris Snee (hip) and C David Baas (elbow) are doing everything they can to be back on the field. "I think they're going to be ready," Flaherty said. "They're out there. They're doing what they can do on the field right now. In the classroom they're doing everything they need to do. They're focused. They've seen all of the cutups. They've actually done extra work in the classroom when they couldn't be on the field. I anticipate them being ready for training camp."
LB | Bobby Wagner | Seattle Seahawks | Depth Chart Tidbit
The Seattle Seahawks are pleased with the dedication of LB Bobby Wagner so far this offseason. "One of the things that fires you up about a guy like him is his approach, like, 'OK, what are some things I need to do better?' He's totally trying to get his game to a spot that he aspires to go to, which is a cool thing," defensive coordinator Dan Quinn said.
CB | Tracy Porter | Oakland Raiders | Depth Chart Tidbit
The Oakland Raiders likely view CB Tracy Porter as their No. 3 cornerback on the depth chart.
