Texas Rangers SP Colby Lewis (elbow) said he has not felt any pain since starting his throwing program but is not rushing through his rehab because he does not want to suffer a setback. He is currently throwing from 60 feet three times a week.

Chicago White Sox SP John Danks (shoulder) has been making progress in his recovery from shoulder surgery, but the team is not saying if Danks will make the opening day roster. General manager Rick Hahn said that if Danks is not on the team when they leave spring training, it does not mean he suffered a setback. "These are broad targets when they are laid out and you have to respond to how the player feels and how his body reacts," Hahn said. "Being on the roster by Opening Day is the target, but if we have to push that back a few weeks to err on the side of caution, that is what we will do." Danks is expected to be examined by team doctors when he comes to town later this month.

Philadelphia Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said he is getting good reports on SP Roy Halladay's (shoulder) throwing this offseason. He said Halladay's mechanics are looking good and he is getting loose faster than before. Halladay will start throwing off of a mound later this month and is expected to be ready for the start of spring training.

Philadelphia Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said SP Cole Hamels (shoulder) did experience some shoulder soreness during his offseason throwing program but is fine now. Amaro said Hamels got aggressive during his program in October and contacted the team's trainer when he experienced the soreness. Hamels was shut down for a few weeks but is now doing fine and is throwing again. He is expected to be ready for the start of spring training.
