- Updating a previous report, Cleveland Browns DB T.J. Ward (hand) had a plate and screws inserted into his thumb after breaking it in a game against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 4. If he is unable to play in Week 5 against the New York Giants, SS Ray Ventrone would make a start.

INJURED RESERVE: DL Justin Trattou (ankle), DL Martin Parker (back), CB Bruce Johnson (shoulder), CB Terrell Thomas (knee), DL Shaun Rogers (calf), OT Brandon Mosley (ankle)
Latest injury news:
- The New York Giants may have a tough decision to make regarding WR Hakeem Nicks' (foot, knee) future with the team. Nicks' contract runs through 2013, at which time he would be eligible to become an unrestricted free agent. Although he is very talented, Nicks has missed time due to injury in every season of his four-year career. WR Victor Cruz is also eligible for restricted free agency at the end of this season, so the team may not be able to keep both receivers long-term. If the Giants were to lock up Cruz this season or this coming offseason, it likely would take a deal similar to Pittsburgh Steelers WR Antonio
Brown's (five-year, $42.5 million extension with an $8.5 million signing bonus). And that might price them out of the Nicks market at the end of the 2013 season.
- New York Giants CB Jayron Hosley (hamstring) said he is feeling better but has not run at full speed on his injured hamstring at this point. Hosley said he has run 60 to 70 percent during practice so far.
- New York Giants LB Michael Boley (hamstring) said he will play in Week 5 despite being listed as questionable for the game.

Pittsburgh Steelers Injury Report
PROBABLE: SS Troy Polamalu (calf), LB James Harrison (knee), RB Rashard Mendenhall (knee), OT Marcus Gilbert (groin)
INJURED RESERVE: OG David DeCastro (knee), LB Sean Spence (knee)
Latest injury news:
- The Pittsburgh Steelers have told LB James Harrison (knee) he will rotate with LB Chris Carter in the team's Week 5 game in order to keep him fresh for the fourth quarter. "I have to come off," Harrison said. "It's no need being out there, being dog-tired, and not be able to do what's necessary to play the position. You want to stay fresh. You don't want to go out there and play every snap in the first half and come out sluggish in the third and have nothing left in the fourth."
- The Pittsburgh Steelers were convinced RB Rashard Mendenhall (knee) was ready both physically and mentally to return after he took part in a pair of indoor practices last week. Mendenhall had no trepidation about practicing on the indoor facility's artificial turf - a surface that tends to generate more stress and pounding on the knee.
- The Pittsburgh Steelers have struggled in the running game so far this season, ranking 31st in the league and averaging just 65 yards rushing in three games. Furthermore, RBs Isaac Redman and Jonathan Dwyer have averaged just 2.4 yards per carry and don't have a run longer than 13 yards. The return of RB Rashard Mendenhall (knee) should help in that area. In the past three seasons, he has had 23 runs of 20 yards or longer, including 11 in 2010.
