Bill Ladson, of MLB.com, reports free-agent 2B Orlando Hudson (Dodgers) wants to play for the Washington Nationals, but is shopping for a richer contract, according to a baseball source. He is asking the Nationals for $9 million, but they are not willing to give him that kind of money. The Nationals have offered Hudson $3 million with incentives that could bring the total of the deal to $4 million, according to a published report. Hudson is 100 percent healthy this year and does not want to take a cut in pay. If the Nationals do not reel in Hudson, they will turn their attention to free-agent 2B Adam Kennedy (Athletics).
