The following fantasy football pickups are for those who need injury or bye week replacements. They are not players you immediately acquire - unless your team is in dire straits. Some have, however, shown some life and should be followed in case they materialize as options beyond their temporary use.

Tony Scheffler, Detroit Lions (81 percent)

We're starting to sound like a broken record with Scheffler, who continues to see all kinds of balls in his general vicinity - he has been targeted 44 times in the last six weeks. Scheffler's production is middling, and the Chicago Bears have statistically been a tough group on opposing tight ends. But his involvement in a pass-happy offense at least gives him a puncher's chance to produce, and pass-catching tight ends have fared very well against this D.

NEW - Delanie Walker, San Francisco 49ers (98 percent)

Although Vernon Davis (concussion) is expected to be available in Week 17, the 49ers draw a porous Arizona Cardinals club that they should be able to handle regardless of Davis' status. Fewer snaps for Davis means more time for Walker, who has scored in each of the team's last two games. Against a Cardinals team allowing 62.3 yards and 0.5 touchdowns per game to opposing tight ends since Week 13, Walker has some appeal.
