Arizona Cardinals

Brian Hoyer will be the fourth starting quarterback for the Cardinals this season. He connected with Fitzgerald four times for 50 yards in the second half of last week's game, but the Redbirds offense has now failed to score a touchdown in three of the last four games. Any Fitz owner left standing has no doubt been able make it happen with him on their bench.

Hoyer a fix for Fitz?

There's no reason to change direction now facing an angry San Francisco 49ers team at home with the division at stake.

Beanie was benched after a first quarter fumble and believes he's done in Arizona after this season. LSH took over with 11 carries for a measly 20 yards.

Stephens-Howling had some moments as a midseason starter and is the better fit when playing from behind. If Beanie is held out or benched again Stephens-Howling is unlikely to get more than a mostly even split of playing time with Powell.

Atlanta Falcons

As the No. 1 seed in the NFC, the Falcons have nothing to play for in Week 17. Head coach Mike Smith said he's playing the game to win but would be smart to give White some extra rest for his knee. Snelling looks to be the biggest gainer assuming he spells Turner and Rodgers more frequently in the second half. Starting any of the main cast is risky, but it appears they should see a fair amount of action, hopefully at least the first two quarters.

Developing situations

Keep in mind that results of the games starting at 1:00 pm EST may alter the plans for teams kicking off at 4:25 pm EST. Owners forced to play this week may want to check the wire for any Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins players as an emergency plan. The winner of the nightcap claims the NFC East crown and a home playoff game, so no one is resting.

Last week Joshua Morgan played a similar snap count to Pierre Garcon, while Santana Moss and Leonard Hankerson saw the field sparingly. Morgan is averaging 4.2 targets per game this season and has scored in two of the last three games.

Kevin Ogletree is playing more snaps than Dwayne Harris, but the latter scored his first career touchdown last week and is getting more targets lately.

DeMarco Murray only sat for eight of the Cowboys' 58 snaps, leaving Evan Royster as the preferred desperation option at running back over Felix Jones.

Logan Paulsen plays nearly every snap on offense and is the only emergency parachute at tight end.
