Quarterback

St. Louis Rams QB Sam Bradford (knee) has started to run on the treadmill, as he ramps up his rehab after suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament. General manager Les Snead said Tuesday, Jan. 21, that Bradford's recovery is on schedule.

QB | Tajh Boyd | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft, Fantasy
The Oakland Raiders have acknowledged they need a quarterback, and they have met with Clemson QB Tajh Boyd, who is projected to go anywhere from the second to fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft. Boyd said Tuesday, Jan. 21, that the Raiders have been the most interested of the dozen or so teams he's talked with so far during the Senior Bowl.

QB | Derek Carr | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
Fresno State QB Derek Carr has been the standout quarterback so far during practice at the Senior Bowl, according to beat writer Tyler Dunne. He has reportedly looked more polished than any of the quarterbacks in this year's crop, or least year's group.


Running Back

RB | Marcus Lattimore | San Francisco 49ers | Injury, Depth Chart Tidbit, Fantasy
Updating a previous report, San Francisco 49ers RB Marcus Lattimore (knee) is expected to be healthy for the start of the offseason and to compete for a job at running back, according to head coach Jim Harbaugh Tuesday, Jan. 21.

RB | Frank Gore | San Francisco 49ers | Injury, Fantasy
San Francisco 49ers RB Frank Gore (finger) was dealing with a broken right ring finger during the NFC Championship.


Wide Receiver

WR | Jared Abbrederis | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft
Wisconsin WR Jared Abbrederis is being watched closely by scouts at the Senior Bowl to see if he can get separation like he did in college. He has been producing through two practices so far, seeing plenty of work at wide receiver and as a punt returner. Currently he is projected as a third-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.


Tight End

TE | Tony Gonzalez | Atlanta Falcons | Injury, Fantasy
Atlanta Falcons TE Tony Gonzalez will be added to the 2014 Pro Bowl roster as an injury replacement for San Francisco 49ers TE Vernon Davis (undisclosed).

TE | Jimmy Graham | New Orleans Saints | Fantasy
New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis has made it perfectly clear that the team still views TE Jimmy Graham as a tight end and not a receiver. The Saints would have to pay Graham considerably less with the franchise tag if he's deemed a tight end instead of a wide receiver. Loomis would prefer to work out a long-term contract with Graham, but the team is willing to franchise tag him if necessary. Last year, the franchise tag for a receiver was $10.5 million versus $6 million for tight ends. Graham lined up as a receiver on 67 percent of his snaps in 2013. He's expected to become the highest paid tight end in the game after hauling in 16 touchdowns in 2013.


Offensive Tackle

Tennessee OT Ju'Wuan James (knee) is not practicing at the Senior Bowl due to a knee injury.

OT | Justin Pugh | New York Giants | Injury
New York Giants OT Justin Pugh (thumb) underwent successful thumb surgery Tuesday, Jan. 21.

OT | Joe Staley | San Francisco 49ers | Injury
San Francisco 49ers OT Joe Staley (thumb) suffered a compound dislocation of his right thumb in the first quarter of the NFC Championship game and will not be playing in the 2014 Pro Bowl as a result. Staley needed four stitches to close the wound, and he missed only one snap in the game.


Guard

OG | Mike Iupati | San Francisco 49ers | Injury
San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh confirmed Tuesday, Jan. 21, that OG Mike Iupati (fibula) will not need surgery to repair his fractured fibula, but he will need a cast and should be fine in about eight weeks.


Defensive Line

DL | Marcell Dareus | Buffalo Bills | Injury, Fantasy
Buffalo Bills DT Marcell Dareus is heading to his first Pro Bowl in place of injured San Francisco 49ers lineman Justin Smith. Dareus gets the nod after the Bills' 2011 first-round draft pick finished with 7½ sacks and 71 tackles, both career highs. He was one of five players to finish with at least that many in each category this season.

DL | Ndamukong Suh | Detroit Lions | Transaction
Detroit Lions DE Ndamukong Suh was selected first in the first NFL Pro Bowl draft Tuesday, Jan. 21.

DL | Ray McDonald | San Francisco 49ers | Injury
San Francisco 49ers DE Ray McDonald (biceps) will undergo surgery to fix his torn biceps muscle.

DL | Nick Fairley | Detroit Lions | Depth Chart Tidbit
Detroit Lions general manager Martin Mayhew said DT Nick Fairley needs to be more consistent and mature a bit as a professional. "He could play more consistently," Mayhew said. "I mean, he's got to mature a little bit as a professional, I think. I think that'd be a big step in him playing more consistently."

Tennessee Titans DT Jurrell Casey (knee) was not medically cleared to be an alternate in the Pro Bowl.


Linebacker

LB | Brian Orakpo | Washington Redskins | Fantasy
Washington Redskins LB Brian Orakpo is going to the Pro Bowl as a replacement for San Francisco 49ers LB Ahmad Brooks. Orakpo had 10 sacks, his most since getting 11 as a rookie, and the first interception of his career. It is Orakpo's third Pro Bowl selection. He also was chosen for the NFL all-star games after the 2009 and 2010 seasons, his first two years in the league.

LB | NaVorro Bowman | San Francisco 49ers | Injury, Fantasy
San Francisco 49ers LB NaVorro Bowman's (knee) surgery may be delayed two to three weeks before doctors can repair his anterior cruciate ligament, according to head coach Jim Harbaugh. Harbaugh said Bowman is facing a "grueling rehab." The Niners are hoping he'll be ready for the start of the 2014 season, but there is no way of knowing now.


Cornerback

CB | Aaron Colvin | NFL Draft Prospect | Injury
Oklahoma CB Aaron Colvin (knee) suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his knee during practice for the Senior Bowl Tuesday, Jan. 21.

CB | Aqib Talib | New England Patriots | Injury
New England Patriots CB Aqib Talib (knee) did not suffer any structural damage to his knee after getting hit in the AFC championship game.


Free Safety

FS | Eric Reid | San Francisco 49ers | Fantasy
San Francisco 49ers rookie FS Eric Reid is going to the Pro Bowl as a replacement for Seattle Seahawks SS Kam Chancellor, who is Super Bowl-bound thanks to a 23-17 NFC-title win over the 49ers. "Would much rather be headed to New York but Hawaii isn't bad. #ProBowl!!" Reid tweeted Tuesday, Jan. 21.


Offensive Coordinator

Updating a previous report, the Detroit Lions announced Tuesday, Jan. 21, that New Orleans Saints quarterbacks coach Joe Lombardi has been hired as the offensive coordinator.

OC | Dirk Koetter | Atlanta Falcons | Transaction
The Cleveland Browns will interview Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter for their head coaching position.

OC | Bill Callahan | Dallas Cowboys | Fantasy
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said offensive coordinator Bill Callahan and defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin will stick around for the 2014 season.

OC | Kyle Shanahan | Free Agent | Free Agents, Fantasy
The Baltimore Ravens have identified former Washington Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan, former Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Scott Linehan, Ravens wide receivers coach Jim Hostler and Pittsburgh Steelers running backs coach Kirby Wilson as their four candidates for their offensive coordinator vacancy. Shanahan was interviewed last week and Linehan was interviewed Monday, Jan. 20.

Gase was their top remaining candidate for the job, but Cleveland's plans have been delayed by the Broncos' Super Bowl run. Gase has also withdrawn his name from the Browns' search.
