QB | Robert Griffin III | Washington Redskins | Fantasy
Washington Redskins head coach Jay Gruden said he won't be trying to turn QB Robert Griffin III into a pocket passer next season. "I'm not going to try to turn RGIII into Andy Dalton or Drew Brees. He isn't them. They're not him. I would be foolish to try to turn RGIII into a pocket passer. It would be foolish. The way he is as a runner, we have to take advantage of that. He strikes fear into defensive coordinators when he runs outside. I'm going to let him be himself," Gruden said.

QB | Carson Palmer | Arizona Cardinals | Draft
Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians said he does not think the team needs to take a quarterback in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft because they have QB Carson Palmer. Arians said the team has two younger quarterbacks on the roster and does not like to have a rookie quarterback to learn while on the bench.

Free-agent QB Vince Young (Packers) has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in Houston. Young has been involved on two lawsuits stemming from a $1.8 million loan obtained in his name during the 2011 NFL lockout.

QB | A.J. McCarron | NFL Draft Prospect | Injury
Updating a previous item, University of Alabama QB A.J. McCarron (shoulder, toe) decided to rest his body for the Senior Bowl at the advice of his doctors. He dealt with toe, shoulder and hamstring injuries in his senior season at Alabama. McCarron had minor surgery on his toe following the Sugar Bowl. His sore shoulder does not require surgery, but McCarron admitted he's been fatigued since midseason. McCarron was cleared Tuesday, Jan. 21, for the first time since the Sugar Bowl. "My shoulder feels better than it ever has now," said McCarron. "I've been working on my throwing mechanics and my arm is going to be stronger than it's ever been."

QB | Matthew Stafford | Detroit Lions | Fantasy
New Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi is excited to work with QB Matthew Stafford, and Lombardi insists that Stafford "isn't broken." "The good news is that he's not broken, that much is clear" Lombardi said. "There's an awful amount of talent there. His arm is something to behold. We used to sit in the Saints quarterback room and just marvel at his passes -- all the depths, the whole field in play. He really can sling it. That's a great thing to have."

One coach of a quarterback-needy team believes New York Jets QB Mark Sanchez (shoulder) wouldn't be out of a job long if the Jets cut him this offseason. New York would save $8.3 million of the $13.1 million salary cap figure if they release him. "We'd take Sanchez," the coach said. "He'd be the starter as soon as he walked in the door for us." Sanchez has been rehabbing his right shoulder in Alabama after having surgery in October.

Auburn CB Chris Davis has flashed athleticism and versatility this week at the Senior Bowl, as he works to improve his draft stock. Most analysts have him rated as a fourth-round target for the 2014 NFL Draft. "It's a good experience being here. I'm trying to catch some eyes of some scouts here. It's a good opportunity to do that.," Davis said Wednesday, Jan. 22.
