Philadelphia Phillies OF Darin Ruf has hit eight home runs in 14 games in the Venezuelan Winter League.

Second Baseman

Baltimore Orioles C Matt Wieters (second), New York Yankees 1B Mark Teixeira (fifth), Yankees 2B Robinson Cano (second), Texas Rangers 3B Adrian Beltre (fourth), Orioles SS J.J. Hardy (first), Kansas City Royals OF Alex Gordon (second), Orioles OF Adam L. Third Baseman

The New York Mets exercised their 2013 options on 3B David Wright ($16 million) and SP R.A. Dickey ($5 million) Tuesday, Oct. 30, according to major league sources. The team remains committed to working on long-term extensions for both players, too.

The Chicago White Sox declined their 2013 options for 3B Kevin Youkilis and RP Brett Myers Tuesday, Oct. 30, making them both free agents.


C | Jose Molina | free agent | Fantasy
The Tampa Bay Rays are expected to pick up C Jose Molina's $1.8 million option for next season. Molina is owed a $300,000 buyout if they choose to decline the option.

C | Brian McCann | Atlanta Braves | Free Agents, Fantasy
With the free-agent market for catchers very thin this offseason, the Atlanta Braves could look to trade C Brian McCann. However, it's much more likely that he'll remain in Atlanta. There is some belief that C Christian Bethancourt could be the Braves' starting catcher by the beginning of 2014.

Colorado Rockies SP Tyler Chatwood is leaving the Arizona Fall League after just four outings due to fatigue, but the team is not worried about any injury. He went 1-1 with a 4.60 ERA in 15 2/3 innings for the Salt River Rafters in an attempt to build up his innings. P Cory Riordan is now moving from the bullpen to the rotation for the Rafters.

The Chicago White Sox exercised their 2013 option on SP Gavin Floyd Tuesday, Oct. 30.

SP | Scott Feldman | free agent | Transaction, Free Agents, Fantasy,
The Texas Rangers declined 2013 options on SP Scott Feldman ($9.25 million) and RP Yoshinori Tateyama ($1.2 million) Tuesday, Oct. 30, making them both free agents. P Justin Miller also had his contract purchased from Triple-A Round Rock.

SP | Ricky Romero | Toronto Blue Jays | Injury, Fantasy,
Toronto Blue Jays SP Ricky Romero (elbow) underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left elbow Tuesday, Oct. 30, and he's expected to need six weeks of recovery time. He also received platelet-rich plasma treatments on both of his knees to help deal with quadriceps tendonitis. Romero's offseason workout program is not expected to be affected by his procedure.

Oakland Athletics SP Dallas Braden and RP Joey Devine cleared outright waivers but declined their assignments to Triple-A Sacramento Tuesday, Oct. 30, making them both free agents.

The Atlanta Braves picked up the 2013 options for C Brian McCann ($12 million), SP Tim Hudson ($9 million) and SP Paul Maholm ($6.5 million) Tuesday, Oct. 30.

SP | James Shields | Tampa Bay Rays | Fantasy,
The Tampa Bay Rays told SP James Shields that they will pick up his $10.25 million option for the 2013 season, according to his agent, Page Odle. An official announcement will come in a few days. However, Shields' name will likely continue to come up in trade talks this winter.

Relief Pitcher

RP | Brandon League | Los Angeles Dodgers | Transaction, Fantasy
The Los Angeles Dodgers agreed to a three-year, $22.5 million deal with RP Brandon League. The deal also includes a $7.5 million option for 2016 that vests if League finishes 55 games in 2015. General manager Ned Colletti said they re-signed League to serve as the team's closer, though RP Kenley Jansen (heart) is expected to be ready for the season.

RP | Jorge Rondon | St. Louis Cardinals | Transaction,
The St. Louis Cardinals added RP Jorge Rondon to their 40-man roster Tuesday, Oct. 30, to prevent him from becoming a free agent.

RP | Bruce Rondon | Detroit Tigers | Fantasy,
Updating a previous item, Detroit Tigers general manager Dave Dombrowski won't rule out RP Bruce Rondon serving as the team's closer at some point next season. "I do not discount Bruce Rondon being our closer next season," Dombrowski said. "We really contemplated on Sept. 1 bringing Rondon up. … If I had known how things with Valverde would have gone, we would have considered it."
