Pros: The Jags have a legit No. 1 for the first time since Jimmy Smith retired, after the 2005 season. Holt has been one of the NFL's premier pass catchers for nearly a decade. Before 2008, he recorded at least 81 receptions and nearly 1,200 yards in eight straight campaigns. He averaged 9.6 touchdowns per year in the five seasons before last. St. Louis Rams quarterback Marc Bulger's fall from grace contributed to Holt's substandard production last year. David Garrard threw for 3,600-plus yards last year, without a legit go-to man. Holt insists he's not on the downswing.

Cons: Bulger stunk in 2007 and 2008, but Garrard isn't much more than a game manager. No. 9 started 16 games for the first time in his career last year, and he threw a measly 15 touchdown passes. The Jags' team philosophy centers on the run and solid defense; they finished in the middle of the pack in passing offense. The depth chart reveals no proven commodities to draw coverage away from Holt. He's by no means tough: He'd hit the deck after a catch, something he could get away with in St. Louis' timing-based offense. Age and chronic injuries (mostly knee and back) are taking their toll.

Fantasy tip: Perception versus reality: 2008 marked J-ville's best rank in the aerial game since 2003, Byron Leftwich's rookie season, and they attempted more passes than runs. Holt is right: The Rams were dysfunctional, so his poor production wasn't entirely his fault. It'll be interesting to see how his finesse style plays in J-ville. The staff is awfully optimistic about his impact, and if he remains healthy, he could be force-fed the ball. In a performance league, he's slightly less intriguing, but in PPR formats, he could be a nice surprise as a No. 3 or better. That's probably where he'll be a value.
