Fantasy Football Draft Guide - Player Profiles and AnalysisBrandon Marshall, WR, Denver Broncos
By KFFL Staff Brandon Marshall | Denver Broncos | 6-foot-4, 230 pounds | 4th year
Pros: Marshall has 206 catches over the past two seasons after coming out of nowhere for fantasy owners in 2007 and is the ideal high-end possession receiver. He has totaled no less than 1,265 receiving yards and six touchdowns in either season as a starter. He is the No. 1 target in the offense, one that figures to pass quite a bit with new head coach Josh McDaniels calling the shots. Marshall will not be suspended for his off-the-field transgressions, and even if he is traded from the Broncos, Marshall has enough talent to produce in any system. Cons: Off-field issues have plagued Marshall during his short NFL career. He doesn't score a lot of touchdowns or typically generate a lot of yards on his receptions, and Marshall is looking for a new city to call home in the NFL. You can expect a drop-off at quarterback if he remains in Denver, because Kyle Orton is not Jay Cutler. Fantasy tip: Whether or not he will be traded remains to be seen, so Marshall's value is slipping a bit. Given his lack of scoring and ability to catch a lot of passes, Marshall's best value is in a point-per-reception format. His average draft placement suggests he should be a late third-round pick. He is a risky draft pick since he has a penchant for messing up off the field, which could lead to a sizeable suspension. Let the buyer beware!
