Pros: Tomlinson has rushed for at least 1,110 yards and 10 touchdowns, in addition to catching a minimum of 51 passes, in every single season of his eventual Hall of Fame career. San Diego's offensive line struggled, but it should be improved this year with competition at right guard and at right tackle. The passing game opened up so much in the last year that defenses have to pick their poison when it comes to stopping the offense. After a lackluster 2008 campaign, Tomlinson has set his sights on improvement to prove his critics wrong. We feel a ticked off LT is a dangerous LT. An improved defense means the Bolts won't pass as much, so there is reason to believe LT will be relied on to handle a larger workload in 2009 than last year.

Cons: Tomlinson has suffered several notable injuries in the past few years - during fantasy playoff time, at that - and he turned the dreaded 3-0 in June. His carries dipped below 313 for the first time in his NFL career (292), and his yards-per-carry average was a dismal 3.8, the worst of his career since his 2001 rookie season. San Diego shifted into a pass-first mentality last year, and the emergence of scatback Darren Sproles could impact Tomlinson's touches, but LT still logged the fifth-most utilizations in 2008 (370).

Fantasy tip: Tomlinson posted 1,536 offensive yards and 12 total scores in 2008 in what was considered a down year. What can a healthy LT do in 2009 even at 30 years old? We've been pleased to land him in the fourth quarter of the first round in early drafts, and fantasy owners are seemingly scared to death of him. We will go as far as saying LT could be the No. 1 back in all of fantasy IF he can remain healthy. Don't be afraid of him; draft Tomlinson as high as No. 2 in point-per-reception leagues.

I think you might actually be low on his rushing yardage. If LT can stay healthy this year, he is going to be a beast again. He has a chip on his shoulder and something to prove!
