Quarterback

QB | Brett Favre | Retired | Free Agency News
Sid Hartman, of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, reports the Minnesota Vikings will sign free-agent QB Brett Favre (Jets) if he is willing to sign a contract with an option that will determine his pay based on how he performs and how much he plays. The contract will not be guaranteed. It could have some good incentive clauses that will pay Favre well if he can perform like he did in 2007, when leading the Green Bay Packers to a 13-3 record. On the other hand, if he fails to produce, he will get paid for just the time he was with the team.

QB | Matthew Stafford | Detroit Lions | Fantasy
Carlos Monarrez, of The Detroit Free Press, reports Detroit Lions rookie TE Brandon Pettigrew was a favorite target of rookie QB Matthew Stafford during a recent workout. The two seem to be working well together. "I'm glad we're kind of getting a feel for each other and a good connection going into this thing and having a good relationship. That'll be good," Pettigrew said of their building rapport.

QB | Vince Young | Tennessee Titans | Fantasy
Gary Estwick, of The Tennessean, reports Tennessee Titans QB Vince Young said he considered quitting football during 2008. Young was booed at LP Field during the season opener. "I was to the point where man, I didn't really want to play no more because of the fact that I was that hurt," Young told ESPN's E:60. "I was that hurt from the boos and all the different things that were going on. It was just so much for me -- I didn't want to play no more." Young also denied being suicidal in the hours that followed the opener.

QB | Philip Rivers | San Diego Chargers | Free Agency News, Fantasy
Nick Canepa, of The San Diego Union-Tribune, reports San Diego Chargers QB Philip Rivers is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2009 season. Re-signing him has become a priority for the Chargers.

Running Back

RB | LaDainian Tomlinson | San Diego Chargers | Fantasy
Nick Canepa, of The San Diego Union-Tribune, reports San Diego Chargers general manager A.J. Smith said he and RB LaDainian Tomlinson are fine with each other. "I presented three plans to Dean (Spanos)," Smith said. "Plan A we looked at six or seven times and it couldn't work. It included (Tomlinson's) contract as it currently existed. It never would work. I took a lot of crap over the LT thing, but LT and I are fine."

RB | Darren Sproles | San Diego Chargers | Free Agency News, Fantasy
Nick Canepa, of The San Diego Union-Tribune, reports San Diego Chargers RB Darren Sproles is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2009 season. The team would like to sign him to a long-term deal. However, if the NFL is not able to complete a new CBA, he would become a restricted free-agent in an uncapped year.

RB | Ronnie Brown | Miami Dolphins | Fantasy
Dave Hyde, of The Sun-Sentinel, reports Miami Dolphins RB Ronnie Brown thought his surgically repaired knee was healthy all of last season. However, after the year, he watched tape of himself and said he could see he wasn't 100 percent healthy. "I feel right now I'm more explosive right now in the things I'm doing. I watched (last year's plays) and thought there's more I could've done," Brown said. Brown is entering the final year of his contract and the Dolphins have invested a lot into their offensive line, so this could be the season he finally is ready to stand out. Head coach Tony Sparano has challenged Brown to break more long runs this year, and Brown said that is one of his goals.

Wide Receiver

WR | Marvin Harrison | Free Agent | Free Agency News
Pat Yasinskas, of ESPN.com, reports a free-agent name associated with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is WR Marvin Harrison (Colts). Although no deal is imminent, there's been some contact between the Buccaneers and Harrison's representation.

WR | Plaxico Burress | Free Agent | Free Agency News
John Eligon, of the New York Times, reports the weapons-possession case against free-agent WR Plaxico Burress (Giants) was adjourned Monday, June 15, to Sept. 23. Judge Felicia A. Mennin of Manhattan Criminal Court adjourned the case until September, when it will be presented to a grand jury. Burress, who made a brief appearance before the judge, has pleaded not guilty and is free on $100,000 bail. "Given the present posture of this case, I do not see any reason why he should not be able to play this entire season," Burress' defense lawyer, Benjamin Brafman, said. "No one was injured in this case. The gun was lawfully registered. There's no victim in this case besides Plaxico Burress."

WR | Brandon Marshall | Denver Broncos | Fantasy
The Associated Press reports Denver Broncos WR Brandon Marshall missed the team's practice Sunday, June 14, as he continues his holdout.

WR | Vincent Jackson | San Diego Chargers | Free Agency News, Fantasy
Nick Canepa, of The San Diego Union-Tribune, reports San Diego Chargers WR Vincent Jackson is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the 2009 season. However, if the NFL is not able to complete a new CBA, he would become a restricted free-agent in an uncapped year.

WR | Jerricho Cotchery | New York Jets | Fantasy
The Associated Press reports New York Jets WR Jerricho Cotchery said all of the doubts about the Jets' receivers is extra juice for the team's receivers to pick up their game. Cotchery, who has 260 career receptions, is the team's only proven receiver on roster. "I want everybody to understand that I'm really not blowing smoke, but we have a lot of talented guys at wide receiver," Cotchery said.

WR | Wallace Wright | New York Jets | Fantasy
The Associated Press reports New York Jets WR Wallace Wright was one of the team's top performers during their recent minicamp. He was on the receiving end of a pretty touchdown pass from QB Mark Sanchez.

Tight End

TE | Owen Daniels | Houston Texans | Transaction
John McClain, of The Houston Chronicle, reports Houston Texans TE Owen Daniels has signed his one-year, $2.79 million tender. Daniels' agents, Alan Herman and David Butz, will continue negotiations on a multi-year contract they hope will make him one of the league's highest-paid tight ends. Those familiar with the negotiations said the team made a new offer last week that would rank Daniels second among the NFL's highest paid tight ends.

TE | Brandon Pettigrew | Detroit Lions | Fantasy
Carlos Monarrez, of The Detroit Free Press, reports Detroit Lions rookie TE Brandon Pettigrew was a favorite target of rookie QB Matthew Stafford during a recent workout. The two seem to be working well together. "I'm glad we're kind of getting a feel for each other and a good connection going into this thing and having a good relationship. That'll be good," Pettigrew said of their building rapport.
