Instant Replay Machine At Metrodome Down For Day
May 2, 2009
|
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ PA SPORTSTICKER AL RECAP (KANSAS CITY-MINNESOTA) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ MINNESOTA 2, KANSAS CITY 0MINNEAPOLIS(AP) -- Umpires at the Metrodome on Saturday night for the Royals-Twins game were hoping for no close home run calls. The instant replay machine wasn't working, the crew informed team officials shortly before the first pitch, so there would be no use of baseball's newest feature for the game should a tight play call for its use. Umpires are able to view a video feed on possible home runs, to judge fair or foul and see whether the ball actually left the park by a rule that was instituted this year. The feature has not been used yet in Minnesota this season. Check out these other blogs....
