Fantasy NASCAR team preview: Tommy Baldwin Racing

by Cory J. Bonini on February 6, 2009 @ 01:00:00 PDT

No. 36 Toyota

Owner: Tommy Baldwin
Driver: Scott Riggs
Crew chief: Tommy Baldwin
Sprint Cup debut: 2004
Age: 38
Career Sprint Cup wins: 0
2008 Sprint Cup rank: 31

2009 fantasy outlook: A new year brings a new car and ride for Riggs, who finished 31st last year in the standings (34 races). He finished inside the top 10 just once. Riggs' best Chase for the Cup finish was 20th place in 2006. He joins Tommy Baldwin, a longtime crew chief for various teams, who started his own team in January. Riggs has full sponsorship for the season. He is worthy of consideration as your last driver if you're looking for a flier in deep leagues.
