KFFL's Fantasy Baseball Rankings Report gives fantasy baseball players the scoop on any happenings that have significantly affected KFFL's fantasy baseball rankings and projections.

Are the M's ready to can the idea of turning their best reliever into a starter? Another starting pitcher named Santana with elbow concerns?

First basemen

Travis Ishikawa, San Francisco Giants

Ishikawa has enjoyed a pretty productive spring. As the left-handed hitter in a likely platoon situation, he stands to benefit. As long as he sustains that lofty flyball rate, he has some power potential ... for NL-only players.

Third basemen

Alex Rodriguez, New York Yankees

Injury news isn't a good thing, but now that A-Rod has undergone his initial surgery and we have a time frame, his value is stabilizing. If he's back by May 1 and should be good to go for the remainder of the year, why not take a shot? Maybe not before Round 3, but you have to feel more comfortable now.

Starting pitchers

Brandon Morrow, Seattle Mariners

Morrow has been experiencing tightness in his forearm since the beginning of March. So, why is he on the rise? The club stated that it's not considering moving Morrow back to the bullpen (where he belongs). However, it's KFFL's belief that Morrow isn't built to start. Eventually, management and Morrow together will reach the conclusion that the cannon-armed righty should be shutting doors instead of opening them. Eventually.

Relief pitchers

Chad Cordero, Seattle Mariners

Reportedly, Cordero received better offers, but he signed with the M's because the club presented him with the best opportunity to gain the role of closer. Mark Lowe, Roy Corcoran, David Aardsma, Tyler Walker, Miguel Batista.... Yeah, he's right. He's worth an end-game pick in AL formats.
