Rhett Bollinger, of MLB.com, reports Colorado Rockies relief pitcher Manny Corpas will take over the closing duties, according to manager Clint Hurdle.

Hurdle decided to go with Corpas over relief pitcher Huston Street, who has been struggling this year and surrendered a two-run dinger in a non-save situation against the Chicago Cubs Wednesday, April 15, to raise his ERA to 13.50.

Corpas has an ERA of 4.15 this year with three strikeouts and a 0.92 WHIP in 4 1/3 innings pitched. In his career, he has totaled 23 saves.

Street's demotion obviously translates into a significant drop in his fantasy value. Hurdle indicated that Street will not necessarily hold down the setup role in the eighth inning. Hurdle will go with whichever relief pitcher is a best fit at the time. Relief pitchers Jason Grilli, Alan Embree and Glendon Rusch could also be called upon to record outs in the seventh and eighth innings moving forward. These three aren't worth your attention.

Corpas should be immediately snatched up off the waiver wire if he is available in your fantasy league. You can still hang onto Street in NL-only formats or deep mixed leagues because he can help with strikeouts when he's effective, but he won't be worth much without save chances.
