In this article KFFL breaks down fantasy football sleepers of the week. We will avoid marquee names, because players of that caliber are rarely benched, regardless of their matchup. Instead, we will focus on the players that make your fantasy lineup decisions stressful each week. Read on to learn which midrange to low-end players that you wouldn't necessarily consider that you need to get into your lineup.

Fantasy football sleepers: Defensive linemen

Robert Mathis, Indianapolis Colts vs. Baltimore Ravens

Fantasy value: Weak No. 1 or strong No. 2

  • Mathis ranks second on the team at this position with 4.3 total tackles (2.3 solo) per game over the last four weeks.
  • The Ravens are allowing the third most total tackles per game over the last four weeks (26.7; 20 solo). This makes up for only allowing 0.3 sacks per game in that time.
  • With the porous Colts run defense, the Ravens, who are already a run-first team, should pound the ball on the ground often in Week 6.

Phillip Merling, Miami Dolphins at Houston Texans

Fantasy value: Midrange No. 3

  • Merling is averaging three total tackles (2.3 solo) and 0.3 sacks per game since Week 2.
  • The Texans have given up 25 total tackles (fourth most in the league) per game in the last four weeks with 19 of those tackles being solo efforts. They are also allowing 1.7 sacks per game in that stretch.

Alex Hall, Cleveland Browns vs. New York Giants

Fantasy value: Midrange No. 3

  • With an average of 2.7 total tackles (2.3 solo) per game over the last four weeks, Hall ranks third among Browns defensive linemen. He is tied for first among linemen with 0.7 sacks per game over that time.
  • Opposing linemen have managed 21.7 total tackles (17.7 solo) per game over the last four weeks, which ranks ninth in the league. They are giving up just 1.0 sack per game to this position in that stretch.

Fantasy football sleepers: Linebackers

Nate Webster, Denver Broncos vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Fantasy value: Weak No. 1 or strong No. 2

  • Webster is averaging 7.2 total tackles (5.2 solo) per game over the last four weeks. He has also scored one touchdown in that time.
  • The Jaguars are allowing 21.8 total tackles (18.5 solo) per game over the last four weeks, which puts them 16th in the league in that time. They are giving up 1.0 sack in that stretch.

Will Witherspoon, St. Louis Rams at Washington Redskins

Fantasy value: Midrange No. 2

  • Witherspoon is averaging by far the most tackles among Rams linebackers with 6.3 total (six solo) per game over the last four weeks. He is also averaging 0.3 sacks per game in that stretch.
  • Opposing linebackers are averaging 34.8 total tackles (25.5 solo) and 0.5 sacks per game over the last four weeks against the Redskins. The total tackles are the second most allowed in the league per game in that time.

Curtis Lofton, Atlanta Falcons vs. Chicago Bears

Fantasy value: Midrange No. 3

  • Lofton is averaging 6.2 total tackles (4.5 solo) per game over the last four weeks, which is second among Falcons linebackers, but he has not registered a sack in that stretch.
  • The Bears are allowing 28.2 total tackles, seventh most in the league, 0.2 sacks and 0.2 interceptions to this position per game over the last four weeks.
  • With an average of 33 rushing attempts per game this year, the Bears love to run the ball. This could lead to a boost in tackles for Lofton.

Fantasy football sleepers: Defensive backs

Marvin White, Cincinnati Bengals at New York Jets

Fantasy value: Weak No. 2 or strong No. 3

  • White ranks second most among Bengals' defensive backs with six total tackles (five solo) per game over the last four weeks.
  • The Jets are allowing 33.3 total tackles to this position per game over the last four weeks, which ranks second in the league in that time. They have also given up 1.3 interceptions per game to this position in that time.

Mike Adams, Cleveland Browns vs. New York Giants

Fantasy value: Weak No. 2 or strong No. 3

  • Among Browns' defensive backs, Adams is second with an average of 4.7 total tackles (four solo) per game for the last four weeks. He also is averaging 0.7 interceptions per game in that time.
  • Opposing defensive backs are averaging 33.3 total tackles (27.7 solo) per game against the Giants over the last four weeks, which is tied for second in the league. However, they have done nothing else with no sacks or interceptions.

Dwight Lowery, New York Jets vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Fantasy value: Midrange No. 3

  • Lowery is averaging five total tackles per game over the last four weeks, which is good for second amongst Jets' defensive backs.
  • The Bengals have allowed an average of 30.5 total tackles (25.8 solo) to opposing defensive backs per game over the last four weeks (seventh most in the league). They are also allowing 1.2 interceptions and 0.2 sacks per game in that time.
  • The Bengals strength is their passing attack, which also happens to be the Jets' main weakness on defense. This could see the Bengals throwing the ball more against the Jets.
