In this article KFFL breaks down fantasy football sleepers of the week. We will avoid marquee names, because players of that caliber are rarely benched, regardless of their matchup. Instead, we will focus on the players that make your fantasy lineup decisions stressful each week. Read on to learn which midrange to low-end players that you wouldn't necessarily consider that you need to get into your lineup.

Fantasy football sleepers: Defensive linemen

Matt Roth, Miami Dolphins at New England Patriots

Fantasy value: Strong No. 2

  • Roth is leading the Dolphins linemen with four total tackles (all solo) per game over the first two weeks; he is also averaging 0.5 sacks per game.
  • The Patriots have given up 29.5 total tackles (21.5 solo) and 1.5 sacks per game to this position.
  • With young quarterback Matt Cassel under center, he is more apt to take a sack than his predecessor.

Kalimba Edwards, Oakland Raiders at Buffalo Bills

Fantasy value: Midrange No. 2

  • Edwards is one of five Raiders linemen averaging three total tackles per game; all of Edwards' tackles have been solo, and he is averaging one sack per game
  • The Bills have allowed 25.5 total tackles (18.5 solo) and two sacks per game to the position in their first two games.

Tamba Hali, Kansas City Chiefs at Atlanta Falcons

Fantasy value: Weak No. 2 or strong No. 3

  • Hali has averaged five total tackles (three solo) per game over his first two games.
  • The Falcons are giving up 19.5 total tackles (15.5 solo) and 2.5 sacks per game to opposing defensive linemen over the first two weeks.

Fantasy football sleepers: Linebackers

Keith Rivers, Cincinnati Bengals at New York Giants

Fantasy value: Weak No. 1 or strong No. 2

  • Rivers is second on the team with nine total tackles (6.5 solo) per game, though he does not have a sack.
  • The Giants are allowing 30 total tackles (23 solo) to the position; however, they have not yielded a sack, fumble or interception to enemy linebackers.

Matt Wilhelm, San Diego Chargers vs. New York Jets

Fantasy value: Midrange No. 3

  • Wilhelm leads the team's linebackers with 6.5 total tackles (4.5 solo) per game this year.
  • The Jets are allowing 24.5 total tackles (19 solo) and one sack per game to opposing linebackers over the first two weeks.

Rocky McIntosh, Washington Redskins vs. Arizona Cardinals

Fantasy value: Shaky No. 3

  • McIntosh has managed six total tackles (4.5 solo) per game over the first two weeks.
  • The Cardinals are giving up 24 total tackles (20.5 solo) and 1.2 sacks per game to the position this season.

Fantasy football sleepers: Defensive backs

Michael Griffin, Tennessee Titans vs. Houston Texans

Fantasy value: Weak No. 1 or strong No. 2

  • Griffin is averaging five total tackles (four solo) and 0.5 sacks per game over the first two weeks of the season.
  • The Texans gave up 31 total tackles (25 solo) and one interception to the position in their Week 1 game.

Tracy Porter, New Orleans Saints at Denver Broncos

Fantasy value: Midrange No. 2

  • The rookie defensive back is averaging six total tackles (five solo) over the first two weeks.
  • The Broncos are tied for the league lead with 35 total tackles (29.5 solo) allowed per game to the position over the first two weeks; they are also giving up 0.5 interceptions per game.
  • With the way Denver is putting the ball in the air this season, Porter could be in for a big day.

Corey Chavous, St. Louis Rams at Seattle Seahawks

Fantasy value: Weak No. 2 or strong No. 3

  • Chavous is averaging 5.5 total tackles (five solo) per game over the season's first two weeks.
  • The Seahawks have allowed 35 total tackles (29.5 solo) per game to opposing defensive backs over the first two weeks, which puts them tied for the league lead; they are also allowing 0.5 sacks and one interception per contest to the position.
