In this article KFFL breaks down fantasy football busts of the week. Some high-level players will be included, because you need to know when is time to sit a player even though it may not seem appropriate. Primarily, however, we will address the midrange to low-end fantasy options that you rack your brain over each week. Read on to learn which of these players that you wouldn't want in your lineup.

Fantasy football busts: Defensive linemen

Kris Jenkins, New York Jets at San Diego Chargers

Fantasy value: Decent No. 2

  • Jenkins is averaging four total tackles and 0.5 sacks per game over the first two weeks.
  • The Chargers are allowing just 8.5 total tackles to this position per game, which is the lowest total in the league; they are also allowing just 0.5 sacks per game.

Aaron Smith, Pittsburgh Steelers at Philadelphia Eagles

Fantasy value: Weak No. 2 or strong No. 3

  • Over the first two games of the season, Smith is averaging three total tackles (2.5 solo) and one sack per game.
  • Opposing linemen are averaging 16.5 total tackles (13 solo) and 0.5 sacks per game against the Eagles in 2008.

Will Smith, New Orleans Saints at Denver Broncos

Fantasy value: Marginal No. 3

  • Smith is averaging 3.5 total tackles (2.5 solo) and 0.5 sacks per game over the first two weeks.
  • The Broncos have allowed just 12.5 total tackles (nine solo) per game to opposing defensive linemen, which is tied for the fourth-lowest amount in the NFL; they have not allowed a sack to the position this year.

Fantasy football busts: Linebackers

E.J. Henderson, Minnesota Vikings vs. Carolina Panthers

Fantasy value: Midrange No. 3

  • Henderson is second among Vikings linebackers with 5.5 total tackles (4.5 solo) per game; his 0.5 sacks per game leads the linebacker corps.
  • The Panthers offense has yielded just 20.5 total tackles (16.5 solo) per game to this position on the year; they have blanked linebackers in both interceptions and sacks.

Derrick Johnson, Kansas City Chiefs at Atlanta Falcons

Fantasy value: Midrange No. 3

  • Johnson is tied for the team lead at his position with 5.5 tackles (4.5 solo) per game over the first two weeks; he is also averaging 0.5 sacks per contest.
  • Opposing linebackers are averaging just 21 total tackles (16.5 solo) per game against the Falcons this season.

Clint Session, Indianapolis Colts vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

Fantasy value: Midrange No. 3

  • Session ranks third among Colts linebackers with six total tackles (five solo) per game over the first two weeks.
  • The Jaguars have allowed just 12.5 total tackles (10.5 solo) per game to this position - only the St. Louis Rams (12 per game) have allowed fewer.

Fantasy football busts: Defensive backs

Daniel Bullocks, Detroit Lions at San Francisco 49ers

Fantasy value: Midrange No. 2

  • Bullocks, who took over as the starter last Sunday, is leading the Lions defensive backs with 6.5 total tackles (4.5 solo) per game - he had a team-high 12 tackles in Week 2.
  • The 49ers rank 30th in the league with 16.5 total tackles (14.5 solo) and 0.5 interceptions allowed per game to the position.

Tanard Jackson, Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Chicago Bears

Fantasy value: Midrange No. 3

  • With five total tackles (all solo) per game, Jackson is tied with safety Jermaine Phillips among Buccaneers defensive backs.
  • The Bears are allowing 29 total tackles (22.5 solo) per game to opposing defensive backs over the first two weeks, but they allowed nothing else outside a single fumble recovery (0.5 per game) to the position.

Shawn Springs, Washington Redskins vs. Arizona Cardinals

Fantasy value: Midrange No. 3

  • Springs (calf) managed six total tackles (four solo) in Week 2; he was out for the team's first game with a calf injury.
  • The Cardinals are allowing 27.5 total tackles (21 solo) per game to opposing defensive backs but have blanked them in all other relevant fantasy categories over their first two games.
