Tom Kowalski, of MLive.com, reports the Detroit Lions are not currently interested in signing free-agent QB Daunte Culpepper (Raiders). This situation could change in a few weeks if the Lions are not satisfied with their backup quarterback in training camp. The team is moving forward with the plan to have young quarterbacks at the helm. However, having a solid backup quarterback behind QB Jon Kitna is a priority.

Mike Reiss, of The Boston Globe, reports the New England Patriots have signed third-round draft pick QB Kevin O'Connell. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

QB | Brett Favre | Retired | Fantasy
The Associated Press reports retired QB Brett Favre, of the Green Bay Packers, would not address his public rift with the Packers during an appearance at Lambeau Field Saturday, July 19. Favre spoke for just over three minutes before the Packers' Hall of Fame induction ceremony banquet. When he was done speaking, he walked off the stage and took off through a side door without taking questions.

The Associated Press reports the Washington Redskins have agreed to terms on a four-year, $3.5 million deal with rookie TE Fred Davis. The contract includes a $1.8 million signing bonus for the second-round selection.
