Harvey Fialkov and Omar Kelly, of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, report the Miami Dolphins are investigating the injury to QB Josh McCown (hand). McCown required six stitches after cutting his hand with a chainsaw while cutting firewood. He said he informed trainer Kevin O'Neill immediately as well as head coach Tony Sparano after a trip to the hospital.

Erik Boland, of New York Newsday, reports the New York Jets signed QB Erik Ainge to a four-year deal Thursday, July 17. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

QB | Joe Flacco | Baltimore Ravens | Transaction
Adam Caplan, of Scout.com, reports Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco has agreed to a five-year deal with a maximum of close to $30 million with $8.75 million guaranteed.

Chip Scoggins, of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, reports Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson said the ongoing speculation of retired QB Brett Favre joining the Vikings has not been a distraction.

Updating a previous report, Stephen Holder, of the St. Petersburg Times, reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers RB Cadillac Williams (knee) is expected to be placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list before the team's training camp begins Saturday, July 26. The team wants to make sure they place Williams on the PUP list before the start of training camp because players who begin the preseason on the active roster cannot then be moved to the PUP list. However, if Williams is placed on the PUP list he will not be able to practice with the team. If Williams remains on the PUP list when the regular season begins he will not be eligible to play until Week 6.

RB | LaDainian Tomlinson | San Diego Chargers | Fantasy
John Clayton, of ESPN.com, reports San Diego Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson told Bloomberg Television that he thinks retired QB Brett Favre was forced to retire before he was ready to do so. Tomlinson stated that he thinks the Green Bay Packers are doing the wrong thing by refusing to release Favre if he wants to play for another team.

Updating a previous report, Joey Bunch, Lindsay H. Jones and Felisa Cardona, of The Denver Post, report the Denver Broncos signed RB Peyton Hillis to a four-year deal Wednesday, July 16. Hillis will receive a signing bonus of roughly $49,800.

The Associated Press reports the Washington Redskins signed WR Devin Thomas to a four-year deal worth $4.83 million. The deal includes a $2.7 million signing bonus.

Updating a previous report, James Walker, of ESPN.com, reports free-agent WR Chris Henry (Bengals) has yet to meet with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell in order to be reinstated into the league. However, Henry could meet with Goodell sometime within the next two weeks.

Jones and Felisa Cardona, of The Denver Post, report Denver Broncos WR Brandon Marshall's arraignment for a June 12 traffic ticket has been postponed to Aug. 12, according to Denver court records. The hearing was initially scheduled for Thursday, July 24, the first day players are expected to report for training camp.
