Gary Horowitz, of the Statesman Journal, reports University of Oregon QB Dennis Dixon (knee) worked out for NFL scouts Thursday, April 3. It was Dixon's first workout since undergoing knee surgery. He said he felt great and pushed his knee to the limit.

QB | John David Booty | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft Information
Gil Brandt, of NFL.com, reports University of Southern California QB John David Booty worked out at his school's Pro Day Tuesday, April 2. Booty had a position workout only, and kept his numbers from the 2008 NFL Scouting Combine. He measured in at 6-foot-2 3/8 and 216 pounds.

QB | Matt Schaub | Houston Texans | Injury News, Fantasy
The Associated Press reports Houston Texans QB Matt Schaub (shoulder) is participating in the team's voluntary offseason conditioning workouts. Schaub is recovering from shoulder surgery he had in early January. He has not recovered completely, but should be able to participate in minicamp and training camp.

Updating a previous report, Gil Brandt, of NFL.com, reports University of Southern California RB Chauncey Washington worked out at his school's Pro Day Wednesday, April 2. Washington ran a 4.58-second short shuttle and a 7.53-second cone drill.

Brad Biggs, of the Chicago Sun-Times, reports the San Diego Chargers will meet with University of Tulane RB Matt Forte Friday, April 11.

RB | Kevin Faulk | New England Patriots | Fantasy
The Associated Press reports New England Patriots RB Kevin Faulk explained Friday, April 4, the incident in February in which he was arrested for marijuana possession. In an interview with The Boston Globe, Faulk explained that the marijuana was not his and he did not smoke it. It is uncertain whether Faulk will face formal charges.

Terry Kinney, of The Associated Press, reports former Cincinnati Bengals WR Chris Henry spent an extra night in jail because no one was available to put a court-ordered monitoring device on him while he was under house arrest. Henry was released Friday, April 4, after posting $51,000 bond Thursday, April 3.

Jim Wyatt, of the Tennessean, reports University of Houston WR Donnie Avery is scheduled to visit the Tennessee Titans early next week.

Gil Brandt, of NFL.com, reports University of Southern California TE Fred Davis worked out at his school's Pro Day Tuesday, April 2. Davis ran a 4.68 and 4.69 40-yard dash, had a 33-inch vertical jump, a nine-foot, eight-inch long jump, a 4.68-second short shuttle and a 7.36-second cone drill. He measured in at 6-foot-2 7/8 and 254 pounds.

TE | Brad Cottam | NFL Draft Prospect | Draft Information
Jim Wyatt, of the Tennessean, reports University of Tennessee TE Brad Cottam is scheduled to visit the Tennessee Titans early next week.


Defensive Line

DL | John Engelberger | Denver Broncos | Injury News
Patrick Smyth, of DenverBroncos.com, reports Denver Broncos DL John Engelberger (shoulder) received the Ed Block Courage Award for the 2007 season. Engelberger was voted by his teammates to receive the award because he battled through a shoulder injury for most of the year. Engelberger also had one of the strongest seasons of his career as he led all Broncos defensive lineman with 59 tackles.

Gil Brandt, of NFL.com, reports University of Southern California DL Lawrence Jackson worked out at his school's Pro Day Wednesday, April 2. Jackson had a 34 1/2-inch vertical jump and measured in at 6-foot-4 1/4 and 267 pounds.

Gil Brandt, of NFL.com, reports University of Southern California DL Sedrick Ellis worked out at his school's Pro Day Wednesday, April 2. Ellis ran a 5.05 and 5.07 40-yard dash, had a 30-inch vertical jump and completed 36 repetitions on the 225-pound bench press. He measured in at 6-foot 1/2 and 298 pounds.


Defensive Tackle

J. Michael Moore, of AtlantaFalcons.com, reports University of Maryland DL Dre Moore said he spoke with the Atlanta Falcons at the 2008 NFL Scouting Combine.


Defensive End

John Harris, of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, reports the Pittsburgh Steelers met with Purdue DL/LB Cliff Avril last month and were said to be impressed with his skill set. The Steelers are looking to bolster their pass rush, and Avril is considered one of the best pass rushers in the NFL Draft. Avril said the Steelers spoke with him about playing outside linebacker. "In their defense, they want me as an outside linebacker, one that can rush (the quarterback) and drop back into coverage," Avril said. "It doesn't matter to me. I feel like I'm athletic enough to drop back into coverage and be a good pass rusher. I feel like I can do both."


Linebacker

Updating a previous report, Gil Brandt, of NFL.com, reports University of Southern California CB Terrell Thomas worked out at his school's Pro Day Wednesday, April 2. Thomas had a 36-inch vertical jump, a 4.24-second short shuttle and a 7.07-second cone drill.

CB | Dunta Robinson | Houston Texans | Injury News
The Associated Press reports Houston Texans CB Dunta Robinson (knee, hamstring) is continuing his rehab process and is encouraged with the progress he is making after suffering a serious knee injury in November. Robinson is not sure of the exact time of his possible return, but he probably will not return to the team until the middle of the 2008 season.

John Clayton, of ESPN.com, reports Arizona Cardinals CB Eric Green signed his one-year tender offer for $2.017 million Thursday, April 3.
