Tennessee Titans wide receiver Roydell Williams (ankle) is out for the season after breaking his ankle in practice Wednesday, Jan. 2. Williams was expected to have surgery Thursday, Jan. 3.

Williams had 55 receptions for 719 yards and four touchdowns on the season. He was tied for first on the team in receptions with fellow wideout Justin Gage and led the team in receiving touchdowns with four. Since Week 15 (three games), Williams was targeted 6.67 times per game, including 1.33 times per game in the red zone. He was averaging 4.67 catches, 69.0 yards and 0.67 touchdowns per contest in that time. In those three games he has been targeted one fewer time than Gage.

With Williams out for the remainder of the season, Gage could see more targets. Gage has been targeted the most of any receiver on the team in the past three games. He is averaging 7.00 targets per game, including 0.33 times per game in the red zone. Gage is averaging 4.33 receptions and 65.7 yards during the same span.

If you had Williams on your playoff fantasy squad, then you may want to look to acquire Gage. Williams will not play again this season, and in the Wild Card Round the Titans play the San Diego Chargers, whom they lost to in Week 14 in an overtime thriller. Since Week 15, the Chargers have given up 33 receptions, 410 yards and three touchdowns to the receiving position. With Williams and tight end Bo Scaife (liver) out, Gage will likely see an increase in the amount of balls that come his way. He is leading the team in targets the past three weeks but has failed to find the end zone.
