The Buffalo Bills currently rank 30th in passing yards with 166.7 net yards per game. This is the fifth straight season the Bills have ranked in the bottom six of the league in passing.

WR Lee Evans said he would be in favor of the team promoting quarterbacks coach Turk Schonert to offensive coordinator because Schonert would likely keep the same offensive system. "Ideally you want the same system so you don't have to start from a complete ground zero. Even when a new coordinator comes in you still have to get used to how he calls games and things like that. From a system standpoint, being in the same system would go a long way," Evans said.

QB Matt Hasselbeck needs 23 passing yards to break his single-season franchise record of 3,841 passing yards in a season. He is expected to play in the game to reach the record but will then likely be replaced by QB Seneca Wallace.

QB Tony Romo believes WR Terrell Owens (ankle) will be able to play in the team's first playoff game in two weeks. "I'd be very surprised if he wasn't back. DT Warren Sapp has been fined $75,000 for his confrontation with game officials during Week 16. The NFL said Sapp was punished for "physical and verbal actions toward game officials that drew an unprecedented three unsportsmanlike conduct penalties and ejection from last Sunday's game."

DE Derrick Burgess was fined $25,000 for verbally abusing an official during Week 16.

Defensive coordinator Rob Ryan could be relieved of his duties shortly after the season, according to several team insiders. Ryan is expected to meet with managing general partner Al Davis Wednesday, Jan. 2.

The Oakland Raiders will have an opportunity to defeat all three of their AFC West rivals in a season if they are able to beat the San Diego Chargers Week 17. It would be the first time the Raiders have accomplished this feat since the 2002 season. The Raiders had a 17-game losing streak against AFC West teams before beating the Kansas City Chiefs and the Denver Broncos earlier this season.
