Fantasy Football and NFL News, Rumors and Injury UpdatesPittsburgh Steelers Week 16 Fantasy Outlook
By Carland B. Whitaker Note: All statistics appearing in this article are from Weeks 12-15, unless otherwise noted. Do Not Bench List - All Positions
Quarterbacks
Roethlisberger - In Week 15, Roethlisberger (shoulder) completed 16 of his 33 passes for a meager 146 yards, but three of those completions went for touchdowns. Despite shoulder troubles, he should be available for the Week 16 game, a Thursday night affair. Watch this development carefully because of the short week, but for now, consider him a low No. 1 passer, or a candidate for the bench if you have better options. The shoulder injury appears to be a concern only because it limit's Big Ben's ability to throw deep. Wide Receivers
Ward - Ward only had 31 yards, with four catches, in Week 15, but he scored. He can be used as a low No. 2 or a high No. 3 fantasy receiver, and he's a strong play for Thursday's game. Holmes - Holmes also had four receptions, and they totaled 34 yards. Although he is a strong play, he should be used only as an injury replacement. Otherwise, leave him on the fantasy bench. Tight Ends
Miller - Miller caught two passes for 24 yards in Week 15. He did, however, score his first touchdown in a month. He can be used as a No. 1 fantasy tight end unless you have better options. He is a weak play for Week 16. Place Kickers
Reed - Reed has not been effective over the past month. He successfully converted both of his extra point attempts in Week 15 but did not get an opportunity to attempt a field goal. He should be benched as a weak play. Defensive Teams
Steelers - A once formidable defensive unit, the Steelers managed an interception but no sacks nor fumble recoveries in Week 15. In the past four games, the Rams have turned the ball over twice per game and have surrendered 2.25 sacks per game. Pittsburgh has been able capitalize on such generosity recently, so keep this team on the bench. More Articles You Will Like
